Well it's a maybe as far as what you might have seen.

Crimson is the alternate to Corruption that you have a chance of generating in your world. It completely replaces anything Corruption-related and is its own unique biome with its own unique boss as well as entire set of unique gear.

Sadly the SP server didn't get Crimson

Also just letting people know that the server will be temporarily going down from 5pm -> 9pm PST as I have some heavy heavy stuff going on at that time.

We didn't get Crimson... but we got a beach ball!


I placed it in the golden chest to the left of the main area, near the sun door.

To pick it back up, wait for it to stop moving then right click on it.

This is about the solar eclipse we just got most likely (at least I've never seen it before. so basically it's a goblin invasion on steroids, some really mess up steroids. If you see this and don't think you're prepped, you might want to get off that map for a while then, I had difficulty with some of my hallow armor, but I don't know if that's the strongest armor anymore or not. I'll find out when I actually make a new character (was just testing out the new map feature).

I believe Cenx confirmed Hallow as "4th best" armor now.

I also found a red box/altar thingy, and smacked it with my hammer out of curiosity. Don't ever smack that thing with a hammer....

Started up my playthrough of 1.2 with my good friend and it's been fantastic so far. We haven't found any rare spawns like pyramid dungeons or tree dungeons, which would be disappointing if we end up not having either, we also don't have the Crimson. But we did find a snow biome and have come across a Snowball Cannon, Ice Boomerang, and Ice Sword.

I noticed in the changelog that it was mentioned that you could now craft early game magic wands/equips for the people who like magic-based characters in this game, but I have yet to find any such thing. Anyone else got any idea? I like to play a spellcaster in Terraria, so it'd be very beneficial for me.

I got the crimson. I'm at my 5th attempt at the brain so far, but I really don't see the point in defeating him since the little ball things drop more than enough ore and tissues...

A few gems and some ore create magic staves. Also, if you can make a robe vanity outfit, you can combine the robe with gems to create a magic one. Each type of gem gives a different amount of power to your items also, they aren't all considered equal. Emerald Robe gives you +60 mana for example and some other perk I think.

The SP server is getting close to entering Hard Mode. Right now a couple of us are preparing "Pre-hard Mode" gear / materials (Shadow / Molten) for people who enter late or are slightly behind.

Hard mode already? damn.

I must finish Casa Del Raz as soon as possible.

Much obliged. I actually found out about the staves before seeing this comment, but I had no idea that you could combine the gems with the vanity robe to get stat bonus versions of the robe. That's excellent news.

Me and my friend are taking our advent re slow and steady, so as to enjoy trying to find as many new things as possible. Before we stopped for the night, we found an area that was filled with spider sacks, webs everywhere, and deadly "crawlers" all over the place, all surrounding a single decrepit chest that held a "Web Slinger", which lets you hookshot with 8 different legs. Pretty freaking awesome. I also found a "Chain Knife" from a Cave Bat. Essentially a melee weapon with long reach.

I can't wait until all these new things get added to the wiki, so I can check everything out myself.

Lucky! I found one spider den so far and there was no chest. I almost died in it too even though I'd like to think I had a decent weapon.

I just wanna say, the main hall looks pretty sweet with all those chests and paintings. I messed around a bit on my new guy in silver gear and ice cave trinkets. Dunno when you all play, but I'll be checking back again, for sure.

My girlfriend just got the Amber Mosquito (Dinosaur pet) from the extractinator! Since the item is infinite use one person can use it to summon their pet, then give the summon item to the other person so they can get their own pet too.
