cygnus says the reason why akyrum keeps respawning is because he's trapped in a time nightmare lotus machine, trascended time so to speak, a dimensional ghost, call it what you want.

lolnexon says he runs into a time portal when defeated, of which he has no control, and he keeps popping in random places until he finally reaches where he wanted, the past, he tries to warn akyrum of the demon slayer and how akyrum's actions brought his doom, but the akyrum of then misunderstands him, which causes the event that trigger the DS betrayal, and the circle repeats infinitely (future akyrum dies as soon as he realizes he caused the misunderstanding)

used the wrong definition though :X anyways, yes, you could say he's sort of trapped between dimensions/cloned himself due to bad time travel, the akyrum we fight is pretty much a ghost left in time, can't be explained because it's one of those things that work on the basis of "time travel lol, i don't got to explain pomegranate"
