Accnt Locking - Removed?

FWIW, Hime commented in a thread about this on their forums.
Didn't say anything except "let us look at this", but at least someone at Nexon is now aware we had something we used for account locking which they inadvertently took away.

Was this the locking the account with a foreign character, symbol ,etc thing? If so hackers could bypass that it never locked your account apparently...If the Mabination forum person was correct anyhow. It just made the character into a different thing can't remember what that was about.

About the above: I was always suspicious of the special character locking method; that it was really no better than any good password changed frequently would be.
Here is another possible locking method. I have not tested it much yet, I just stumbled upon it during that day when various ISP's were locked out of Nexon sites.
Fire up Hotspot shield. Attempt to log in normally using gamelaunching. You will get nothing but the 'Trouble logging in..' message.
Done; you're locked out, since only hackers would use Hotspot shield.
Attempting to log in using gamelauncher will just get more 'Trouble logging in..' messages (even after rebooting without launching Hotspot).
Attempting to log in at the Nexon site will get you:

Account Activation Required. Your account has been deactivated for your protection, due to account inactivity or improper attempts to access your account.
An activation email has been sent to your email address. If you cannot locate the email, be sure to also check your Spam/Bulk Mail folder.
Didn’t receive our email? Click here to send another activation link.

To get back in, reboot comp without starting Hotspot, go to email, click link in message from Nexon, then enter new password as requested.
Disclaimers:
-Do not do this if you no longer have access to the EMail (duh).
-Test carefully on a worthless account first.
-This method is only secure if your EMail is secure
-There is no proof that some hackers don't have some way around this.
-This method only works because Nexon has placed the range of addresses used by Hotspot on some forbidden list. This could change if Nexon changes their mind about Hotspot, or if Hotspot changes what addresses they assign from.
-There is a slight risk that Nexon could get nasty in the future and actually ban accounts that use Hotspot.
-Use at your own risk!
I would appreciate comments from any experts on this method.

At least there IS a way.

Though I preferred the old one.

Maybe if we make a big fuss about it they will consider actually doing something.
