Which is more believable?

Situation:
You go into a remote island never been explored by anyone. Few months later, you come back to the civilization with a supernatural power. Which is more believable reason:

- Spiritual life-form never been referred by any culture gave you this power and claim you are destined to destroy the universe.
- Genetic mutation that has same chance of occurrence as winning the first prize lottery, 2 times in a row.

Is there radiation on the island?

2nd one.

When I hear no for radiation I hear yes for radiation.
Likewise when I hear yes I hear yes.

Realistically, neither. Unless there is a crazy solar wind that causes unknown fallout or something, that mutates the entire population of earth, not just the person on the island. That's not realistic either, though!

I'll go with the first one, spontaneous mutation without any radioactive source sounds a bit hard to belive.
