Game of the Year

These awards shouldn't even exist, and I don't understand why they are the largest nor do I understand why what they classify as GOTY gets a special edition. They completely look over anything not made in the US or that didn't sell a million or more units.

Games that should be on there but aren't include Radiant Historia and Catherine. Both should be in the music category at the very least.

Games that shouldn't be on there but are include... 80% of the list. Skyward Sword shouldn't even be on there because it's not pineappleing out. I'm not saying it's not GOTY worthy but technically NO ONE KNOWS. I don't understand why they couldn't wait until Monday to release their garbage list but whatever. pomegranate is an embarrassment.

SERIOUSLY WHY THE pineapple IS BATMAN IN THE MUSIC CATEGORY? THAT SOUNDTRACK IS TERRIBLE.

Pretty much all this. I mean... their best handheld game is Ghost Trick, Mario, and two random iOS games (ok, yes, not "random", but still... those games aren't exactly amazing). While I voted for Ghost Trick, because I loved that game, is that... is that really the best they could come up with? I mean, Ghost Trick probably doesn't even deserve to be on there.

Also, wow, ok DID THEY REALLY PUT "WWE ALL STARS" UP FOR BEST FIGHTING GAME INSTEAD OF BLAZBLUE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT? Or, I dunno, SF3:Third Strike OE? Or anything else that's actually a fighting game? Also: why MvC3 and not UMvC3, since that's, you know, even out already? Speaking of which, KoF XIII isn't out yet either.

I was expecting Best Independent Game to produce a lot more rage from me than it did, though. But Bastion, Minecraft, Sword and Sworcery EP, and Binding of Isaac are all great games. It's just that, you know, Minecraft's only "this year" on a technicality and To The Moon should be there (and also for Best Original Score) because that's really the second or third best game I've played this year.

tl;dr: bias is horrible and stupid and To The Moon is wonderful

Also, Portal 2 is much better than Portal 1. I mean, seriously, even the writing is amazingly improved, and I really liked Portal 1's writing to begin with.

I was expecting Best Independent Game to produce a lot more rage from me than it did, though. But Bastion, Minecraft, Sword and Sworcery EP, and Binding of Isaac are all great games. It's just that, you know, Minecraft's only "this year" on a technicality and To The Moon should be there (and also for Best Original Score) because that's really the second or third best game I've played this year.

Last year's VGAs had Limbo win "Best Indie Game" over Super Meat Boy. That alone made me rage hardcore.

There wasn't a Blazblue release this year though, unless you count Extend getting released in arcades, which you know Spike doesn't know what the hell an arcade looks like. I'm surprised that SSFIV:AE didn't get a nomination. Also, there's people fighting in WWE. It's therefore a fighting game to mainstream gaming peoples sadly =\

For some reason I thought CS came out this year. Dunno why. There's CSII though, in any case. And yeah, AE would have fit there as well, or even the 3DS version.
