天文台下午3時25分錄得日本仙台以東發生一次6.5級猛烈地震。

經初步分析，震中位於日本本州東面離岸海域，即仙台之東南偏東約320公里，震級為黎克特制6.5級

Translation: Hong Kong Observatory recorded a 6.5 magnitude Earthquake at the east of Sendai, Japan at 3:25pm this afternoon(GMT +8)

After preliminary analysis, the epicenter is located at the offshore waters east of Honshu, Japan, the east-southeast of Sendai about 320 km, Level is 6.5 according to the Richter magnitude scale.

Edit : Wait a second. Is this according to the Japanese scale (shindo) or by the Richter scale? If that's a Shindo 7.0, that's another 8.9 magnitude type earthquake. :S I'm going to assume it's Richter or another silly name of a scale, since it's not noted.

Oh. Well, at least it's not as bad as a Shindo 7. That's still pretty big, though. I hope it doesn't cause too much damage.

The easier way to distinquish it between other scales is just to call it "Shindo."
