Edit : Wait a second. Is this according to the Japanese scale (shindo) or by the Richter scale? If that's a Shindo 7.0, that's another 8.9 magnitude type earthquake. :S I'm going to assume it's Richter or another silly name of a scale, since it's not noted.

Yeah, but the Japanese (and Taiwanese) have their own scale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Meteorological_Agency_seismic_intensity_scale
The easier way to distinquish it between other scales is just to call it "Shindo."
