Item Locks and Hacking

Because email, Database, DDoS, NX Cash theft, and Paypal account theft are getting to be more commonplace you think more would be done.

The thing is, one company like Nexon isn't going to break the mold. A team effort by various companies like Blizzard, Nexon, Microsoft, etc. would be the only way to really get the ball rolling, but until that happens this stuff will continue.

So, an item-locked, untradable item on a character with both wedding rings exploded would be 100% safe then?

Only if it doesn't have slots (for example, MoN - not zero slots, but no slots whatsoever when unscrolled), otherwise enhancements can still blow it up.

Although, I can see problems with account lock. Suppose the hacker changes your password and locks your account...then what? lol

Or people could be more secure with their info and email addresses.

Even people who are secure with their info get hacked. It's doesn't only happen to people with easy passwords.

You'd be surprised how quick $5-6 can add up if people bought them to remain more secure in Maple. People still buy Authenticators for WoW even when Blizz is more than willing to do a character restore from X days ago due to the hacking.

OK so lets get opinions on this. I heard from my friend whos an ex hacker that once a hacker strikes an account they aren't likely to strike it again. Which seems true to me because most people I see get hacked never get hacked again0.o. I could say I'm an example but I can't>.> Only times I was hacked was first I was scammed(I was like 11 give me a break) and other times were my friends who watched me input my info and kept taking my crap>.> But what do you guys think that if your hacked your once your less likely to be hacked again?(or at least by the same person)

Personaly I would think a hacker would keep all the info on hacked accounts saved...
Just so they can try and hit you again with less work.

My friend was continued on his account after it was 'hacked' and left with 10m. I told him to start afresh bit to no avail.
Needless to say after 6 months his PIC got changed by the hacker and he was stripped AGAIN

Not sure if it was posted before, but get your character married. Drop/Destroy the ring. You can't divorce a character without trading in a ring I believe, unless they changed it. And you can't delete married characters.

beside of the 1 week char restore (one of my guildmate got hacked in WoW, after 5 days, his char got restored) blizzard offer the free authenticator for ipod/iphone/android and some phone carrier, and when you active the authenticator, you get a free pet.

I guess it would be better to nexon release a $5 dollar authenticator, than have their ticket system flooded with: ZOMG I HAZ HEKKED HALP ME.
