Wow Nexon...they actually took a weekend to go out and fix this.

...still long ways to go though. If they can do this for any serious bugs on a regular basis, then that's a big change.

Nexon knows player exp is serious business.

Glad to see it get fixed so quick, and i hope the hackers are raging at any opportunities they may have missed cause they put off doing damage till today.

Nexon, is patching this, because this is much more dangerous than D/C hack or HT hack. And will make a lot of players lose their confidence in the game and quit or stop buying/trade NX.

In the business point of view, Nexon is right. Doing a patch that prevent the company to lose money.

In general, until a new players be aware of the other exploits (like DC hacks), preventing him to acquire 4th job skill books (depending on the job he choose), buying or earning, he already gave to Nexon an expected amount of money.

I don't understand about micro transaction system or game design. Or if a long term player is better or worse than a thousands short term players.

I am just expressing my opinion, my thoughts about this problem.

larmie Wrote:This. Wouldn't be surprised if the headquarters are remote updating the servers in LA. Ray started a thread on this around midnight; NexonAm couldn't have had a dev team in place at midnight on a Saturday (unless they were up already doing BB work) so Korea (which would have been Sunday noon) could have organized something.

Nexon should utilize its global offices more in any case Tongue

9 PM PST, and there was a Sleepywood thread up much earlier than that. In any case, glad to see they're fixing stuff on Sundays now. Hopefully this is a trend for the more serious issues.

I'm sure the only reason Nexon fixed this so quickly is because it would affect their NX sales. If people can get killed anywhere and lose their exp, they are scared to train or even log on, therefore they'd have a low attendance to the 2x drop/exp event, which probably represents high sales for them in terms of 2x drop/exp cards, pets and pet equips. If only they worked as fast on other problems, like the Monster Book glitch I've been nagging them about since patch, I would have a bit more faith in them.

I thought about that too; it really depends on the person. I've seen casual players walk in and start gobbling up avatars while some long-term players finance themselves through MTS. It's really a case-by-case basis.
Younger players tend to spend a lot less than older players though. Nexon should focus on attracting casual (but passionate/easily addicted) players instead of just "young kids" who tend to be detrimental to the gaming experience
