But in all honestly bro? That bow is pretty damn ugly. Seriously. I'm not trying to be mean or anything...but that bow just doesn't look that great in my opinion. It's so...klunky. Know what I mean?

FelixTM Wrote:I'll gladly trade. What the hell does "engaw" even mean? No, seriously. I've tried looking it up on various sites, and I can't find where it came from. I want to know!
It sounds retarded regardless, though.
gau = penis in Cantonese. en = lord in Sumerian

No. I don't know how related Nifelheim and Nibelheim are.

Bow of Magical Destruction > Engaw.
At least it doesn't have a giant black spiral going "hey, look wut i gots on mai arm"
That's right. Reverse/Timeless Engaws just look like bowman decided to be all cool to equip Beyblades on their arms. Now, don't get me wrong. I love Beyblades, but they do not belong in my Maplestory.
As for the Bow of Magical Destruction, well, just look at its kickass name. A thousands times better than "Engaw" whatever the heck that's supposed to mean. Lord Penis you say? Sounds like the gang name of a douchebag in Los Angelos.
I don't know about you guys, but I think Nexon tried extremely hard to make all these Timeless/Reverse equips sound badass, though failed on a few occasions. (lolengaw)
Thoughts?

As a swedish guy with a degree in both history and religion this is my field. =)
Nibelheim is the realm of ice, home of the ice giants (poor name for a non elemental blade although I guess it might look a tad icy).
Hugin and Munin are ravens as well as Odin scouts.
Jormungandr is not a spear, its a giant snake also known as the midgardwyrm. It's the son of the god Loki and the giantess Angerboda.
The spear you might be talking about is Gungnir, Odens spear, forged by the dwarves. When thrown it never misses its target.
Wiseman Solomon and Wiseman Rex are not related to Norse mythology.

They are not talking about the spear. Only one person mentioned the Reverse alchupiz. They're mostly talking about the Reverse Engaw/Nibleheim.
IMO
Crimson Arclancer > Dragon Shine Bow > Reverse Engaw.
The reverse engaw might not be the best looking bow, but it sure looks better than most of them.

You meant Nifelheim (or Niflheim) which was half of the cause of Ymir's creation. Nibelheim is freaking in ff7. Well I blame Squaresoft for such a misleading reference. D:

Someone tell me what Killic means.
Still, it's not surprising that a part of Maple is based off Norse mythology. Practically everything in MS is based off something.

Huginn and Muninn is most likely included in this because the name of them mean thought and mind.

Reverse Equinox.
since an Equinox is the time of the year when days are = to nights it would be all night or all day. so pretty bad ass.

Yes, Nifelhem would be the correct name, but Nibelheim works too, look at Wagner's Nibelungen. You're right about the Ymer part though, from the frost of Nifelheim and the firey sparks of Muspelheim came the giant Ymer, which Odin and his brothers Vile and Ve later slew. They used the carcass to make the world according to the creation myth of theirs.
Ill give you a few more variations just for the hell of it:
Ymer=Ymir
Mjölner=Mjolnir
Gungner=Gungnir
Oden=Odin
Tor=Thor
Freja=Freya
Ragnarök=Rangnarok
Midgård=Midgard
Asgård=Asgard
Midgårdsormen=Miðgarðsormr=Jormundgand=Jörmungandr
Mostly small variations, but still.

Do the variations come from different pronunciation natures of different countries?
And from your list, which ones go with which ones? Cause I've always used Ymir/Mjollnir AND Freya, not Freja, and I'm not really sure.

Isn't Nibelheim the name of the Neo Tokyo dropship boss thing?

Sorry, the left side of the list is the nordic versions, the right side is the ones used in the english laungage and I guess japanese games.

That would be the Nibelung.

No, just no. Equinox is just when the sunrays incide perpendicular to the surface of the earth on the equator. It also marks spring/autumn.

Wrong. Even equinox has the words equal and night in it if you translate it from latin to english. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equinox
