v.123 - Tempest: Into the Storm Update Notes

Are any other people lagging severely in Azwan? Some of my friends keep on dcing like crazy.

I was getting mostly continuous low grade lag in Azwan (monsters slow to die, buffs slow, etc) as well as occasional 10-20 second freezes. For me hard-solo-defense is usually pretty easy, but not last night. Also got many d/c and crashes, since azwan forces channel changes every time you enter or exit.

It affects some people badly, others apparently not at all. Very strange. I don't think a lot of people's internet suddenly got bad at the same time.

Yeah, the ESC trick does help. Maybe it skips one of the channel changes.

In over half an hour of straight hard mode Azwan I didn't notice any difference from before. :f6: Didn't have any trouble with killing the monsters or dodging the tower bombs/rocks, and no disconnects while changing channels. I hit OK after I finish my hard mode solo and it sends me out immediately, same as before.

It hits me the worst in failed/leave-room situations in Aswan. I think as long as I don't spam any key while the screen is black I should be fine.

I have had some of this lag but nothing too terribly serious. The most annoying is the lag before the mobs actually show up. I can get all the way to the end tower before the Owl towers even show. There's not a lot of reason for me to hang there anymore now that the exp has been cut in half. It was a great place to train instead of LHC. I could log in 5 mules and then train aswan solo for a very sweet gain. It's not worth it now.

Another thing I notice with it, though, is that when I choose Easy mode, it gives me lvl 50 mobs (even though I should have 170). The old easy mode would be identical to Normal except that it didn't summon the hyenas and the tower damage was lower.

Only part of this patch I am disgruntled over is having to resteal skills on my Phantom. Finding a Dark Knight/Bishop on Nova has proven difficult.

sometimes when I enter hard mode, screen goes black, kicks me out, and gives me ~1% honor exp (normal clears give 4%)

Getting special circulators is a joke now. Out of ~10 runs I saw it 6 times lol

sometimes half my buffs disappear when going from prep room -> hard mode attack

Just saw some of the coin requirements for the Tempest shop.

- 150 coins for full AP reset scroll (available for 7 days, untradable)
- 11 coins for golden shovel and pickaxe!
- PoT and Dream fragments at 8 and 12 coins respectively
- Pendant of spirit at 15 coins, available for 7 days
- 30 coins for a Master's Coupon that raises your profession level by 1 (don't ask me how this works or whether you could use it for Willpower levelling etc.)
- AEE, Advanced pot, 10% CSS, several chairs, all at 23 coins each.
- Incredible Chaos scroll of Goodness 40% at 45 coins..., normal chaos at 30 coins.
- 120 coins for a bag that OPENS YOUR POCKET POUCH (if you can't get level 30 charm; no if you have your pocket pouch already don't bother about this)
- 41 coins for the usual class-specific MMB
- 83 coins for special MMB
- A very interesting... photo album. 45 for the album, and I think 5 coins for EACH photo that is needed to complete the photo album. Completion gains you an 8-slot pouch (?) (text is ambiguous) There are 25 photos...
- 45 coins for a non-booming additional pot stamp 10%, 30 for the booming version.
- THREE HUNDRED COINS for an AB ring recipe
- 15 coins for the usual crafting recipes. level 110 face accessory recipes at 11 coins. 90 coins for abyss armour recipes, 150 coins for abyss weapon recipes.

- 68 coins for level 100 Tempest weapons iirc. Interesting, the level 100 shining rod has more MA than the equivalent staff or wand.
Tempest set - 9 items to the set - belt, earring, shoulder, hat, overall, shoes, gloves, cape, weapon.... Each of the 4th-7th set effect gets you +5MA/WA, 6th set gets you extra +10all. Last (8th) set effect is +15MA/WA, +20all. (3rd set effect gets you something but I'm on a ship now)... All armour comes with 1WA/MA (except belt). Ring is +6all, +2WA/MA. Pendent is +5all, +1WA/MA. Shoulder is +6all, +3WA/MA. Earring is +3all. All are level 100, including those not part of the set. ALL Tempest items have potential (yes, ring! but ring is unique equip)

- Helsium belts and capes, each for 233 coins.

Ok nothing else interesting in the shops, the usual scrolls are available too. I'll post again later for each Tempest item and effect (or does KMS extraction have that data?)

I wonder why too. I may be missing something here but as I recall even KMS did not have a lot of events giving out Tempest coins.

I literally work on all of these days, but to confirm this these are Hot Day's? As in I can log-in anytime throughout the day and collect my rewards?
Also I see an AP reset scroll and a free character coupon on December 1st, is there going to be any other ways to obtain character coupons in this event if anyone knows?

As it turns out, the hot days, all of them, are actually only 12 hours long, from noon PST to midnight PST, so you have to be available during those times. Best of luck to you, though =/
