The awaited leeching debacle!

I for one, support leeching. I haven't bought any on my Gunslinger and don't plan on it, but I did buy and sell it on my Bishop and fail to see the problem. Who the hell are you guys to judge the way other people play the games if it's not interfering with your game play? Jealous and/or pissy-ness because they level faster than you isn't grounds for disqualification. Period.

Ok, fine, you got the ranks issue, but seriously, it's your spot on a board. If you're "all about the game" and how people should play it "fairly," then ranks shouldn't matter much to you anyway, huh? I mean, it's hardly even part of the game in any way.

YOU waste your time to get to 4th job content and above, and their waste their MONEY. You both lose something.

Leeching isn't abusive? What about how it screwed up the rankings? Or how about the way it screws up training maps? (Galloperas for instance.) I haven't played MS lately, but I've heard Galloperas are awesome EXP, yet the maps are being wasted with Bishops selling leech, when instead they could be shared among two people who want to actually train. I'm not even going to get into how leeching has made people act with bosses. Tons of people get KSed at Bigfoot by some twat Hero with his level 40 PG mule.
Leeching is a big problem that does affect the game negatively.

Yeah I know what you are talking about. That reminded me when I was having issues with finding a clean Gallopera map when Malaysia came out to test the experience ratio there on my x-bow due to Mages selling leech, but eventually figured out the peak times that they were training. Because Mardia isn't as crowded as Scania, it isn't packed 24/7, but it is really bad at that map now because of leeching.

Someone else comes into the equation when I start getting KS'd at wind raiders because some jackass wants to leech his oh-so-hard-to-train 6x-7x.

Arguing leeching doesn't affect you, so why do you care is a terrible argument, because it does affect me. Before mini-dungeons, nearly every channel of Newties was taken up by leechers. Even trying to go to Wyverns during 2x was impossible because of all the rope-humpers. Even now with the mini-dungeons, My CB still suffers because somebody takes my map to leech.

My beef with leeching isn't the legitimacy of it, it's the effects of it that I hate. People zooming up past me in levels (Which doesn't matter but still is annoying), KSing by people who shouldn't even be training on the map, and a general mindset created in MS where training is only needed until you can leech harps, at the latest.

I believe gMS was the only version with the "malfunctional" version. How did you know that it's supposed to work against Bishops?

You answered your own question. If a newly released feature behaves differently than it does in every other version and was never specifically explained how it was supposed to work the default answer is that it's malfunctioning until it's explicitly explained. "Working as intended", the only reply we ever received, failed to explain what intent was and was therefore not an acceptable answer because the players had no way to judge the truth of that.

The experience system is working exactly as it's intended and more importantly, as it's been defined to be. You can readily test the stated behavior of it against the reality and confirm they match, where elementals you could only compare the stated behavior from other versions to the reality here and determine a gap in both documentation and functionality. Leeching has been clearly described, defined, validated to work as expected and declared legal until something changes.

This is the final statement on this subject, because it's off topic here because the two situations are not relative.

The people actually leeching their buyer counterparts have just as much right to be there as you or me. How do you work in your thought process that they do not? It's not abusive behavior by any stretch of the term that they are they killing as fairly as you would be. The only issue would be people KS'ing to sell leech, and honestly, that's a different problem. People KS without the issue of leech anyway.

If every map was full of "people training legitly," it would be fine for people selling leech to whine because, as stated by a Nexon representative, they are not doing anything wrong. The general concept of leeching is not abusive...yet.

While I agree taking up ranks or using money to get higher levels is something not really that serious of an issue, forcing people to leave a map that may be great exp for them out of greed is just...I can't even think of a word to describe my feelings on it.

Those people should be banned. They still need to follow the basic rules of the game if they are going to leech others.
