No More Security Questions

I disagree with the removal, but it's convenient for me, since my Outlaw was created on a mule account I initially entered random info for. It wasn't until I was level 50 and had charged 25k NX that I realized my mistake.

Oh, and you can actually see what the last name is for the account by going to customer service. So you don't even need that.

I'm a bit thankful. Now I can change my password. My account had an answer to a secret question that they didn't give an option to answer. i.e. I have no idea what the secret question was to my account, but it was not any of the ones in the drop down list they gave me.

While I must admit this is pretty nifty, this is not the real solution to the problem.

The real solution would of been simply changing the security question to something most likely not to change... like "What was your pets name" or "Where were you born" or even "What's your mothers maiden name"

If you can't answer that last one then you're obvious not 13 and should not be playing Maple. It should be a choice of those questions anyway.

-shrug- I'm not going to complain. God knows who my best friend was. Now the only thing I need to change is my email.

Thank god for this stuff. I never knew what combination of fake last name/misspelled secret question answer I had before. Now I can actually change my password. So happy~

"You have exceeded the daily limit for password retrieval."

Looks like Nexon doesn't understand the difference in the meaning of changing password and retreiving passwords.

Anyway, for people wondering about your last name, just go to Customer Support and it should show your full name.

I think somebody later posted in the thread that you could change it, but you had to wait until the next day or something. Slightly less fail.

Thing is, they would still need your password and username. Given they know you username for some reason, it's still quite hard to brute force a password if you made it with symbols and more than 10 characters.

You don't need your email to change your password.

You simply enter Last Name and Birthday, it takes you to your information, where it has the text boxes,

Old Password
New Password
New Password Confirmation

Then it logs you out and tells you to log back in, and it is changed.

Only reason you would need your email is if you pressed "Find Password", then it would send your password to your email address.
OR if you want to Pin Reset and confirm it with your email.

Phew. What a relief. I finally have a much safer password than my old one (which was a variation of a skill I didn't even know existed in the game X_X).


EDIT: BTW, whoever is bishing about HTP sellers hacking your account or w/e: Why the hell would you even be letting someone else on your account on the first place? Just earn the dam thing, or at the very least, get a computer that can handle it. The moment you give out your account info, you're asking to be hacked. No reason you should complain about the possibility.
