Underappreciated great games
#21
All of the Oddworld games. Man, how I loved the creativity and effort put into Oddworld and it's inhabitants...too bad they stopped making new releases after Stranger's Wrath D:

Gotta love it ^_^

One of the best MegaDrive games ever!

Shining Force is actually decently big.
Like just slightly under mainstream big.
Its on alot of Sega Compilation packs (for good reason)

FinalHeart Wrote:The most underappreciated game I've played is probably Lost Odyssey. The people who play it usually love it... just it's not really THAT popular. The best JRPG on the 360, (hell, maybe this generation) in my opinion.

Huh... and here I was, thinking LO was way overrated. The main story is pretty cliche, the fights load slow as hell, you spend more time ring managing in fights than actually fighting and half the cast is annoying (Mack/Cooke/Tolten/Jansen). On that note... oh god, how annoying is Jansen?! He's obviously meant to be comic relief but I think he had a 0.050 batting average at it, making you roll your eyes more often than drawing a snicker.

Granted, I'm painting a poorer picture than it actually is. The dream sequences are fantastic and the highlight of the game. It was good enough for me to sink 80 hours into the game, but I don't see myself playing it ever again.

I also disagree with the "Best JRPG on the 360" comment.. heh. To me, that goes to Last Remnant, which got brutally beaten down by reviews for a few technical problems that are resolved by installing. That & Mass Effect are still my 2 favourite 360 games.

On the computer, I found that the Gothic series was really under-appreciated. Heck, I've never heard of it except for when me or my friend mention it. I sank a lot of hours into that trilogy too Chin

I guess it's a matter of taste. I actually like the story, Jansen was pretty funny (I will admit that he could be stupid at times), and I really never spent that much time ring managing to be honest.

Also, the world ends with you. Seriously, both those games had everything to easily be multi million sellers except goddam advertising. Stupid companies wonder why TWEWY sold only 20k copies in europe by september? BECAUSE NO ONE HAS HEARD OF IT YOU MORONS. GET SOME TV TIME FOR YOUR BRAND NEW SUPER FUN, ORIGINAL GAMES AND MAKE YOURSELF RICH.

AND SERIOUSLY CAPCOM? ONLINE ONLY ADS FOR (wii version of) OKAMI? RAGE.

I knew about Okami and I think it got a fair amount of attention. Also I played "The World Ends With You" and I found the story interesting, but nothing that could be considered amazing. Also "The World Ends With You" got plenty of attention from gaming magazines and was set as #1 on the DS charts for quite a long while. I thought it was honestly overrated as a "storyline game" and it didn't really touch me in any thrilling manner. As a DS game it was good. But only as a DS game. Just my personal opinion.
