Cant see asian languages, and Stickykeys?

I have a problem where I can't see japanese or chinese on file names. They just come up as question marks or jibberish. I can see them in my browser just no anywhere else. It looks like this:


I also DO have the Install East Asian Languages box check under languages and regional options. HALP.


PS: I also have another problem, If I hold down shift, the filterkey/stickykey window pops up. It says " To disable press settings". I press settings and then nothing happens. I lack the foler also in my CTRl Panel where stickykeys would be located.

I dont have my install disk, and the East asian language optiion in my language and regional options is ALREAYD checked,

When I press that settings button NO WINDOW AT ALL POPS UP. Thus I cannot turn it off.

Try that, the "mouse actions" set of instructions.

No idea on the language pack issue though =/

Windows Xp media center.

I'm running on Media Center as well, but I see the Accessibility Options, mind taking a picture of your Control Panel? What service pack do you have installed? And what Unicode are you running?

I have SP3, Iunno what you mean by unicode though.

As you can see in classic view i have no accesability options.

That's... really odd. I've never seen that happen before. Have you re-installed Windows recently or is it still the factory installation?

I did a reformat a couple weeks ago, hmmm maybe thats it.....

But I lost my disk awile back. My HP allowed me to reformat to factory settings without disc.

That's the only reason I can think of it not appearing for you, possibly something got messed up on the reformatting of it. If worst comes to worst, just reset to factory installation again.

hmmm is there any way to download this accwiz.exe from microsofts site? I'll check later

For your language problems try going to the "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options" and go to the advanced tab. Then select the language you want from the drop down menu. This is usually the second step in installing the East Asian language pack. Maybe that will work. Maybe it won't...

I could probably give you a copy of this file. See if it works.
