Only background shows up at start-up

EDIT: Problem solved

When I start up my computer, It brings me to user log-in, but once I've logged in it just displays my background, and no matter how long I leave it it doesnt load my start bar, or any icons on my desktop.

What is wrong?Frown

I just had that a few days ago!
It took me like 4 hours to fix cuz mi dumb, I googled the problem and a website showed me what to do, but I don't remember which.

the process called explorer.exe is most likly not running, if i could figure out how to start a new process ill let you know, or if you know how(i am having a brain fart so i cant) type in explorer.exe and everything will come back up

*edit* im not gonna try it right now becuase i dont belive im right, but try run, then type in explorer.exe and it might come back up ^.^

to use run, hit ctrl+alt+delete->new task

I think you can make a new process with the Task Manager.

yes, yes you can but last time i needed to do this was like windows 98 and task manager had a button new process or maybe it was in a drop down menu but i couldnt find it in my task manager O.o lol
