Microsoft reveils new Windows 8 logo! :D

I thought MS only had problems with windows vista ? the entire time im using 7, ms didnt bork at all o.o

Oh nice, Microsoft is making progress... lol... Windows 3.11 didn't have a Start Button either, that was SO awesome!!! xD

I RANT ABOUT A BETA NOT BEING COMPLETE

But I don't want a touch screen interface for two reasons:

- Your 26 inch Screen gets dirty ALL the time with fingerprints (yay, cleaning your 26 inch monitor 8 times per day!!! )
- A mouse is less work to control a device, I don't like to raise my arms all day, while it is less effort with a mouse.

That's fine. Your mouse (and my mouse) will still be accepted by USB ports. Though on the flip side you could wash your hands, wiping down 8 times a day is a lot.

Erm, the aim from Microsoft is to make Metro the main interface.
The desktop is considered no more then a native APP from Microsoft that is started with the Metro interface...
So no, Microsoft's idea is that APPs for desktops are the best next thing (read: pay pay pay $$$).
That depends how the Metro interface will be received by the audience, and ESPECIALLY business environments.
I don't think the Metro interface will make the work floor more productive, actually I think it will be counter productive as hell...

Microsoft knows that removing all the old functionality would sink their OS, meaning no profit at all. So I don't see your point. One of the first things they said after the new interface was leaked/announced was that all the old functionality would still be there. The goal with Win8 is not to replace old features. As you've noticed, they're trying to expand enough to cover Apple's niche market, drawing in new customers, keeping up with the times. Touch interfaces are a pretty big fad right now. However, they can't remove core features of what has made Windows...well Windows, because their current big customers, would not purchase. The consumer groups Microsoft has drawn in that Linux and Apple haven't, are Businesses and Gamers. They will not ignore key features either of those groups wants. They would like to keep market dominance in those areas. You can expect to see most everything you are used to.

I wouldn't be surprised if Windows 9 would look quite a lot like Windows 7 so the work floor can upgrade Windows and stay productive...

Because Windows 7 looks totally more like XP than it does Vista.

Well actually it was the other way around, Nexon had problems programming Maple to be compatible with Windows 7, not reversed.
