They got tired of people calling their logo a flag.

They probably thought it cute that they would modify an old logo for their new one. However, its singular color scheme does make it look rather droll honestly.

I kind of liked the flag thing. This is just boring. That doesn't mean the OS will suck too, but without an eyecatch it's not going to sell as well.

Much like the 2012 Olympic logo, someone most likely got paid a lot for that.
