New Leaf Saga Ep.3

You don't need to be a chef to tell the food tastes like pears. You know something's wrong with the humor when Acorn Story is funnier than these fan-videos that are deliberately made to be "comedy."

Meh, it kills a few minutes of my day, which is pretty nice. The humor could use some work, but I enjoyed the video for what it was all the same.

This. It doesn't need to be funny to be entertaining >.> It's just a cute little cartoon that has no bearing on your life if you watch it or not. People will bash NEXON for anything nowTongue

Considering the terrible job they do, you should not find that surprising.

What I find surprising is people jumping on NEXON over a stupid cartoon

The guy who made this cartoon isn't Nexon. Nobody here is jumping on the cartoon either. We're simply saying it's not the best, it's not the funniest. Stop overreacting.

Didn't he say in his newgrounds blog that Nexon was paying him to do this but they gave him the creative license to do whatever he wanted? So whether or not it's fan made, he's been contracted by Nexon and therefore works for them for the duration of the project.

Not that that's either here nor there. I didn't criticize it because it has to do with Nexon, I criticized it because it made me physically ill to watch it. I don't need to be able to better to say THIS IS HORRIBLE. I would need to be able to do better if I said "I CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS HUNK OF JUNK"

It's bland and slow.

I can't do better, but I don't have the time. :<

I personally think the videos are creative and adorable. But to each their own, I guess.

While I agree with Sarah that in today's standards, this is nothing special, I STILL enjoyed watching it.

I'm not sure if anyone else remembered the first one, but that first one must've been made 5-6 years ago, when the game was just starting (early days, back when it was still called "OMS" for "Official Maple Story"), and I remember watching it back then, and going "cool, this is really neat and awesome!" Even if it doesnt meet up to standards of today, when I was 5-6 years younger, I enjoyed watching this, and I could relate to it and understand it and find it pretty neat back then (I still remember wondering why I couldnt equip a pan lid with my bow), and because of that, even though the humor seems a little childish, and the animation is nothing to boast about now, it still has me drawn in, and I still wouldnt criticize it.

Instead of looking at this as "a person for nexon making a mediocre cartoon", I see this as "a person who made a cartoon about maple story years ago making them once more in the same style". Just as some older movies' (Ex. Lion King, Aladdin, etc.) animation isnt as great as the ones now, and the humor might not be funny to kids of this era, people my age will continue to rave about how awesome they were when we were kids, and I see this as a similar case.

I really couldn't have said it better myself, that's partly why I enjoyed it so much. It brought back the nostalgic feel of the first flash, which I loved, and it made me giddy seeing more from the same person using the same humor he used back then.

As these being my first times watching these cartoon I will say I would like it to "move faster". Sometimes the dialogues go so slow it is like they do it so the 3 year old kids watching the video can get everything that's said. That and change some of the voices, like the arrogant noob's voice.
