People say it isn't an accomplishment to hit 120 now but I disagree with that because it takes time and effort. The only people I see complaining about this are hardcore players that play 24/7 or people who only care about ranks. Who gives a crap about ranks and playing Maplestory all day? Sadly too many people.
Anyways Maplestory is a lot funner now for me. I actually enjoy the accuracy system and it is weird to watch videos of pre-BB and people hitting these high level monsters that they can't now & if I had the choice to remove it or not I would never, it also removes leech which I had no use for so that's a plus I guess.
& i'd say you can't even compare Maplestory BB to a private server cause that's just.. wrong ): So you are saying it was impossible to hit 120 without leechor lot of mesos before BB?
Not true. I am a good example. 4th job without nx,leech or money.

Seems fine to me, minus the boss nerfs. The accuracy formula got on my nerve for all of 5 seconds, till I just found a mob my level range to kill, and have decent %ph. I don't see why to complain about how it takes hours of grinding after 120 to level, as if it didn't pre-bb, or did it just take that long for me? Now I just hop on, train for about 40 minuets - an hour, and level at least once a week. Pretty good on my end, seeing as not everyone has the time to grind about 3 hours daily for the same result as they did pre-bb. I'd say training became a bit more of a casual thing, rather than grind from the moment you log in. I did think Anego needed a nerf, but not one as big as she got, as well as the other the other bosses in Showa. BF made me sad the most, seeing how Nexon would say "BF wasn't meant to be a soloing boss". Well wth is it now? Same goes for just about every other boss, its just terrible. I was excited about the fact that I could finally boss, and not get completely slaughtered, but if there are mobs that hit more than any boss, it's not too flattering. Potential system was broken for the start, no real way to blame BB on that. The potential system will only continue to make the rich ridiculously richer. Glitches need to be fixed, although, I've only encountered the sound DC that was patched; All remaining glitches still need to be taken care of asap. Overall, training is easier for those who grind in the long run, area bosses are terrible for a challenge, but decent exp for players within its level range as of now. LHC should make things a bit more fun, hopefully.

My list of pros and cons with the new Maple. Not everything is directly linked to Big Bang itself, but anyway:
Like: Level 1-140 is now so easy that any casual trout can achieve it, having secondary characters aint such a waste of time now. No more dumb ultimates. No more gamebreaking autrocity bosses that give way to much exp and are free to all, like Anego and the dumbest boss of all times, RG type S. HP issues are virtualy gone and washing is almost pointless. New resolution is great. Comptibility issues at bosses are, for me at least, almost totally gone. I actually like the new Victoria. Most classes got an enhancement in gameplay and fun, my wifes DrK went from plain to awesome. Just too bad NLs did not get anything that really changed how we roll, but I love Avenger now, and Dark flare can be incredibly useful in certain instances.
Disslike: Lack of high level training grounds and content. Accuracy system. Removal of monsterbook. Removal of the permanent option as a regular part of cashshop. Cashshop crash bug. Channel change bug. Imbalance in the boss department, either bosses are way to easy or hard as hell, the only middle ground might be Chaos Zakum (and Ht, but only because many of my guildies are obnoxiously lazy and refuse to get to 160). They did not take care of all useless skills, for example shadow meso and ninja ambush are still worthless beyond justification. They still make events that can be easily hacked to hell, some foresight would be fun to see. Limitations in the number of channels that you can fight bosses in. 3 Zak channels aint nearly enough, and once they fix the HT glitch 1 channel will be silly since people can solo it easily now.
All in all, I prefer BB.

I love it! The first 50 levels are made abit too easy IMO, they should nerf those a bit and make questing more attractive, you just outlevel alot of quests too easely.
50-90 can't say :O
90-100 is still very easy, but slowly getting harder.
For 100-120 difficulty is perfect now. Not too slow but also not too fast. It still takes some hours every level. One negative point here are the ludibrium maps who are VERY crowded now, maybe they should make a minidungeon there.
For my high levelled chars, levelling became slower if you compare it to training 4 hours on 2x with some 4x, but I'm more than happy not to feel the urge to buy 2x cards anymore (I spend wayyyy less NX now without those things!!!). Compared to training on 1x, training did increase a bit (paladin: 12%->15%/hour). Those people talking about 2-3% an hour: I recorded 10%/h on my 154 BM and 8.6%/h on my 160 i/l-mage, and those don't have any godly equips or anything. You must be doing something wrong.
For the skill changes I was probably one of the lucky ones, having the most buffed classes: paladin and bandit, so very happy with that xD Only disappointment was hunters: Their new skill marksmanship didn't even manage to get me from 2 to 3-hit ko :^/ they're still too squichy to be fun.
But I was most suprised about priests, which turned out to be BEAST: Damage is more than decent, and HS got even better than it was before, like that was even possible.
Mages teleport mastery is fun to use and requires alot of skill to master, which is alot of fun Also 4th job is alot more interesting now.
It's sad bossing shifted from 130-150 to 110-130 looking at pap, bf and anego. All that is left to do at 130+ with friends is zakum or scarlion, who are even more drama now with their 3 channel restriction.

I have almost no problems with BB now. The only thing that makes me sad is my 136 AM doesn't train very fast, so instead I'm just working on secondary characters unti LHC comes out.

It's 2 minutes but it is still faster. I find myself moving from every possible area to the next because bossing is the best exp now so even 2 minutes less travel is a plus for me.
As far as PQs go i hope they just make big bang versions of CWKPQ and VPQ and re-implement them. If that's what they meant when they said exclusive content for the next months that's fine with me, but if they make something totally new and awesome that's cool too.
Point taken on the trip to Orbis, but I dont think it makes up for the fact that most travel is unaffected and most of my personal traveling is legthened (since I travel between leafre and vic. a lot).
We'll see what happens with the exclusive content... but I wont get my hopes up.
It could be satisfying if they rereleased VPQ and editted CWKPQ (increasing the exp reward, adding new rewards to the bonus area, and/or adding the MSEA MoN would be enough for me), but I dont want to get my hopes up with that either.

Big bang definitely started off the wrong way in my books, when I lost 10% exp right off the bat (so leveling is to be easier, but I LOSE %?), and it came across as Nexon being lazy, implementing KMS exp tables without the consideration of a previous exp curve they'd given us. That being said, I still stick to my original take on big bang, that it was a lot of change with nothing actually getting better.
1. Yes, characters are stronger, but so are the monsters. Yes we need less exp to level, but monsters also give less exp.
2. Overall, the movement of Victoria left me a bit confused at first, but again, it was just moving a lot of stuff around, with no great improvement, at least for someone 16x like myself.
3. I do actually appreciate the change to monster levels to make the increases more "logical", making going deep into nath challenging (to some degrees), and updating monster levels so that they arent a joke anymore. It was fun for at least 15 minutes, going around and slaughtering lycans now that there was a map filled with them, and spawning ww for fun. However, I dislike the new accuracy formula, because, as an archer, that was the defining part of the game, which is now gone.
4. I liked how they made most maps trainable now, some of them without losing their gigantic size which made them fun to explore (Ex. Deep Ludi maps) by adding portals at the bottom that tele you to the top.
Overall, big bang was what it was advertised: a lot of changing stuff around. I could definitely see why it appeals to people (especially 7x people who had nowhere to train because of the gap that was there initially. I mean...death teddies gave 1.3k for 30k hp, roids gave like 300 exp for 8k hp, then tauromacis gave like...400 exp for 20k hp or something...totally not practical to train on), but for myself personally, as a casual 16x player, it hasnt made leveling easier for me, and while some things were interesting, my interest in them died fast.
Ps. I'm just curious, how many people are left on you guys' buddy lists. When big bang first came, I saw like...20 people online (this is a 3-4 year old buddy list) including people I never thought I'd see again. After a month, many have left again, and I only have like...5-10 people online at max again. The game was definitely teeming the first week after, but how many of those people are still left?

New resolution and ui is great. Quests being reset reaaaally sucked for those completionists like myself. Training is LOL at lower levels and absolutely terrible at higher levels. Being able to run all the PQs is great, except they should have scaled with your level. Some of the map redesigns are good, but others suck. Winter event was an absolute disaster. Boss nerfs basically ruined the fun for anyone looking for solo enjoyment.
Basically I played a lot the first 2 days of BB, but besides logging in for my ring, I haven't touched it since. Which is a far departure from how I used to play the last year and a half.

Huh? I never said that in any shape or form, you might have misread I guess. :S
I was just saying it's much easier to get 120 obviously, and gives people who before Big Bang didn't have the time or NX the chance to finally be a higher level; those are major factors of why some people just couldn't hit 120, that doesn't mean everybody couldn't hit 120 before Big Bang without NX or no-lifing.

i hear 4th jobbers have trouble with training, but the only thing I can think of for that is:
1. wait until LHC comes out and train on your OTHER chars
2. work on making ur weps more powerful/ chat like the other lazy asses in ur guilds that never train xD
3. suck it up...? lv 200's always been a privilage to get to up untill recent years. it was never meant to get to in a matter of weeks with 4/6x exp =/ I'm sure they will fix that problem, but until then, complaining about it constantly won't get you anywhere. I say just enjoy the game and be thankful they didnt REALLY pineapple up...like random bannings (like before..lol)
enjoy the game or just stop playing. there's really no other choice regarding that =/ quitting over "SLIGHTLY" slower leveling seems kinda dumb to me. you guys do realize the experience ur getting now sounds alarmingly similar to the exp you used to get from 50+ before orbis pq, rite? I remember the good ol' days where 20% an hour was a godsend <-<;

First, I'm sick of being told to wait. Everyone just simply keeps saying "wait, wait, wait" but they fail to realize that many of us already have been waiting for months for the promises nexon made over the Big Bang (and there are many other promises many of us have been waiting nearly a year for).
In terms of training, it isnt slightly slower. Its much slower. I still consistantly attack large mobs and I still kill things I train on within 2 hits, but there are too many factors that slow me down. Monsters give about half the exp per kill, while I need a little more than 3/5 of the exp I originally needed to level up. That evens out to be about 83% of my original training speed. That is already much slower, but if we factor in the nerfing of the family buffs, 2x cards, etc. then training speed is probably between a fifth and a fourth of what it use to be. You cant tell me that is only a slight change.

I still miss my monster book.
Certain quests are not changed to fit with Big Bang.
New EXP curve is good. New Victoria Island is good (I really mean it). Higher damage is good, although it doesn't actually help.

I disagree! I reached level 50 with only something like 6 incomplete quests that require below level 50. That's with the exception of some "insane" quests, like "Today's Schedule". Though, I didn't train at all, only questing...

It was fun for the first couple of days of the initial patch, and then the first couple of days of the resistance patch, but now im pretty much over it.
Yes they changed everything, meaning my highest level character ever is now 76(used to be 52, sat on a screw casting lit all day on retz) but in the end the game still comes down to the boring grind which made eventually stop playing 3 years ago, and what will probably happen again now.

As a character that was cruisin to 180 and beyond 3 months ago, I agree. Was on the fast track from 175 up, got hacked and quit for 2 months, came back with some equips from friends and a lot of my own money and got geared and then ready to level, when....BOOM! Big Bang hits. Overall I like the update, the skill changes, the faster lvling nibs, but at the same time, its SO discouraging leveling now at like you said, a fourth of the speed of before. I want 200, all uniques, 120 KOC and then to forget this game that has taken almost 3000 dollars and thousands of hours from my life. I'm tired of waiting, LHC as soon as possible PLEASE! I'm tired of being the one to spend half of my paychecks at Walgreens and then having Nexon bring out new content for all the new players and players that have never had a 4th job character, but then wait! 20 levels into 4th job and these characters will never level again.

Big Bang reminds me of the No Child Left Behind Act.... it slows everyone down and forces everyone to train at the same place at pretty much the same pace, almost regardless of how strong you are.... :/
I enjoy it though, just is so... boring training now. And bosses are a joke :/

Being stronger matters nothing now, what with friends of mine in really crappy gear 2-hitting CoGs at Oblivion 4. Its all about level honestly, and very little to do with gear.
However, it will matter when LHC comes out, and the mobs have 9m hp and spawn continuously. At that point, you are limited in how fast you can kill, and high damage will mean godly xp.
Also remember, our LHC will probably remain un-nerfed (268k xp a kill versus 100k xp a kill) for a couple weeks, so train like a banshee for as long as you can before the nerf bat swings.
