Adding this to current exploits, it scares me just how much this seemingly small time glitch could flood the economy. I estimated 80-90 mil per day per person using a bot(which is also apparently public). That may not sound so bad, but I've heard of at least 6 of them in galicia(confirmed with tracking)
Even if there is such a program, you yourself stated that they couldn't open more instances than they could normally, so whether they lag or not is irrelevant. As my calculations showed above, they would only make around 10 mil per hour assuming their computer could handle 3 instances of maplestory. Leaving a computer running multiple instances of maplestory on for a long time is bound to cause overheating on even the most advanced computers.
