What kind of pets have you always wanted?

I have never had any pets other than the freaking animal of the Devil, cats. We haven't had a pet for about 4 years, and I am determined to force my parents into buying us a dog. I have never had one, yet all dogs love me.

I have had budgies and fish, I really want a cat. Unrealistic pet would be a polar bear. They look so cute, regardless of age >///<

Always wanted a chinchilla, they look so nice.
Also a small fox.

I had a chinchilla and it wasnt so great. Like mentioned in the thread, cool to look at but thats about it. Maybe it was just the one I had, but he wasn't very social. if i walked up to his cage he would run into the far corner 90% of the time. We would let him out of his cage to run around the den, all he would do was hide under the desk and poop everywhere. Ended up giving him away to a friend of a friend who owned a few chinchillas already. On topic, i would like a cat, maybe a dog, but more likely a cat. perfect blend of social and self dependent imo.
