Stop the presses! McAfee screws up!

Microsoft uses their services primarily and distributes their product.
Software is faulty.
Blame is placed on the ones letting this product get into the market.

by loose logic if no one ever used/distributed McAfee, we wouldn't have issues with them. it'd be another anti-virus program that'd fill that position since someone has to be the fool in the group. *But if the product doesnt get out, then it isnt capable of harming anyone.

What "services" does Microsoft use to distribute McAfee? The Hardware vendors install it on Windows themselves. And even when you DO buy Windows from Microsoft, it's a clean install (which was the case with my Windows 7 disk).

So, if I create a program that, let's say, deletes sys32, and put it on the internet and manage to mass distribute it, is it Microsoft's fault too?

Microsoft can't and doesn't decide what comes on the market. They don't really have a choice on what application a company releases.

I don't see any "logic" in your post.

I had a ton of problems with McAfee on my first computer so I never got it again.

It's distributed with their main online services, namely Hotmail. [/color]

I use MSE. It doesn't give many F-P. I'm content.

McAffe however once told me MapleStory was a virus... >_>.

Exactly. 6 years ago. Now, MS has their own suit competing with them. Point still stands.

Unless, ofcourse, this is a plot 6 years in making.

Dang... I seem to be the only one that had no bad experiences with McAfee anti-virus software. o.o It has worked decently for me without any gripes in the past, and I currently have it right now on Win7.

This must really suck though @ major bug with their software and WinXP.

I would totally reply, saying how much McAfee is pure shit, but the rest of you seem to have done a good enough job. I don't really want to beat a dead horse or anything, but I do hope this instills some kind of common sense into people. There are far better antivirus programs out there.
