How fun is DFO?

I've heard really good things about DFO but I really have to wonder what'll happen when Diablo 3 comes out. I got hooked on internet games with Starcraft and Diablo, they were top dogs back then -- in Starcraft's case, people are still playing it now. Diablo, Diablo 2, and WoW were all the foremost games of their type in the time in which they came out.

I think Nexon saw the handwriting on the wall a while ago -- namely that Maple would become outdated -- and started searching for an alternative that would let it compete with the next gen of games. From what I heard Mabinogi was modestly successful, stuff like sugar rush wasn't, and they finally hit the jackpot with DFO. Still, with an opponent like Blizzard, will that matter? I have to wonder.

2D side scroller with fast paced action. Bosses aren't just stand there and take it. Either you learn to avoid their hits, or you learn how to cancel/stop their attacks by either using the right moves or juggling the boss in the air. The dungeon system grades you based on how well you slaughter the dungeon. This includes how badly you overkill, how well you avoid getting hit, as well as being stylish with your moves and sending your opponents juggling in the air. You get more EXP for performing better, which encourages good players.

The dungeons are rather short, think 5/10 minute Counterstrike games. You can log on, clear a dungeon once for either EXP or for a quest, log off, and feel like you accomplished something.

There's actually a limit on how many dungeons you can enter a day. This discourages people with no life, because one can only earn so much EXP in one day then. PvP is unlimited, but that doesn't level you up.

Hmm, this game suddenly seems interesting.

You can enter exactly 156+ (because if you enter a dungeon with 1 point left you can complete the dungeon) dungeon rooms. In low levels that goes by FAST, but past 37, it'll last a fair amount of time. (Frozenheart is 2 rooms for ~60k exp in a party of 4 on kings road)
