I suppose we had complaints about 2x and Family 2x and Bishops in the past so this is nothing new. But really, this is the only one that affects me at all. In my eyes, this is the ONLY thing of all of those that will helps my training. I don't leech; I solo; and I don't use families since I'd feel like I was using people and don't want to devote my schedule to them to make up for my gains. And events just lag the heck out of me, so I avoid them whenever possible.
Call me casual these days, but this is the only benefit that standard 1x players have been able to enjoy. Last comment of mine for this topic since my voice won't mean much when I quit soon anyway.
EDIT: Someone in my BL (who I can't really say that I trust) told me that JMS has both the EXP curve and the monster exp boost of 1.25x right now. I'm not sure if I believe him or not, but he claims he plays there.

No JMS does not have it's EXP TNL increased.
Proof:
5.26%
Using the Hiddenstreet EXP TNL table:
6,971,271/132,358,236 = 0.052669 = 5.26%
In other words, JMS gets a free 25% extra EXP to leveling. You may now bi tch that JMS people level faster than us because out -25% EXP TNL increases training speed by 20%, while JMS level an extra 5% faster. zOMG!
*Quickly checked math, and you're right Dusk.

To whoever reached a high level before the exp curve, 2x cards, family, and 4th job. CONGRATSZZZZ1!!1!2!1$@!$@!$!!!!@!@!!!!!!!111!!1111!!1!!!!1
Now that your achievement has been acknowledged, I would like the exp curve to remain. Possibly the only reason I managed to hit 120.

So far, from what I've read.
The oldies want to level for accompolishments and goals, they want a challenge and the exp curve makes it to easy for everyone else to get to where they are. So they don't feel accompolished for taking a few years to do what someone can now do in like, a few months.
The people who enjoy the exp curve, are people who enjoy the game for what it was meant to be played for(apparently), gameplay. To enjoy the content in the game, and play it, maplestory is a great game, but it's greatly limited to it's harsh grinding conditions.
The leechers would keep leeching either way, so I do not count them, I don't really care if someone doesn't want to spend hours on end spamming a skill on skelegons to level myself.
Man it's all the same, the ''immature'' community judged by the ''pro'' community by not working hard enough, and not having enough skill.
The ''pro'' community gets judged by the ''immature'' community by wasting their life for some pointless accompolishment on a game that could end on any day, without worry.
All in all, I side with the ''noobs'' in this, generally most of the people who hate the exp curve wish to ruin it for everyone else, because in their eyes the game needs to be more challenging and needs more work to level.
The other side, only wants to level to just enjoy the game, they don't care if some random guy afk's and lets someone train them for pay all day, and in the long run, why does that matter anyway? why is it someone elses buisness that someone wants to sit and leech, what's SOOOO bad about it?
I don't see why someone wants to accompolish something on this game, shouldn't it be all about the fun? This shouldn't be a chore in my opinion, and that's what the higher ups are making it look like.
Seriously, the worst that could happen with this exp curve is ksing increases, which is already becoming less common because of all the areas to train in. People ks a lot anyway.
Really seems like both sides are at fault for the bad community in this game. I don't see why it's the end of the world because it's made easier to level on a game, if the ''personal accompolishment'' means SO much to you, train on zombies till level 90 on 1x, do it the hard way. You have accomplished it, congradulations, now let us enjoy our 4x, you have accomplished leveling in the most ass way possible, are you happy? What is it? Do you do it for the fame or the personal accomplishment? Well if you do it for the personal accomplishment it shouldn't matter that everyone else is getting easier ways to actually enjoy the game.

While this has probably been brought up several times in the thread: in my opinion, this is no different than the introduction of 2x EXP. Both have given new players the advantage of being able to hit the levels that older players had hit, twice as quickly. Even now, it's only another 125% quicker. I'm sure some of the people who speak out against the new curve had also defended 2x EXP cards.
I'm not on any side in this discussion, though; I just thought I'd point that out.

The problem is that this game revolves around grinding, there is barely any end-game content, if this game wasn't about just getting to the next level we wouldn't have this discussion.
I really hope Nexon puts ways to level faster that aren't focused on Cash Shop, and at the same time give people more stuff to do.
I know several games where you reach max level in a very short time, for example: in Guild Wars max level is 20, you easily reach this max level in less than a week, but when you get it it's not the end of the game, you have a bunch of missions and quests to do, as well as getting titles and a balanced PvP.
I expect Nexon notices someday (a very far day lol) that a good game is not about grinding, but having fun.

One idea is we need more Mu Lung style PQs. Gives high levels something to do by trying to work for very nice one of a kind equipment; stuff you can't just buy your way through.
Tiered PQs for level 130-200 equipment? There is so much potential in this. You must have beaten the level 130 equipment PQ to gain access for the level 140 equipment PQ, and so forth.

I love exp pq's, that are fun at the same time.
-off topic
is there anywhere I can get information on the mu lung pq? I know it's boss survival, but is it worthwhile ect?
I really hope this exp curve stays, getting to level 125 was not worth my time, took far to long. Having the ability to make a new character and actually get it higher(because I regret making an I/L mage, they just don't cut it compared to other jobs) without wasting a second life is something I've wanted to do for a long time myself. I'm also glad that finding high levels won't be hard.

Everything you need -should- be in there.
Ontopic: If the exp curve stayed in other versions that got it, I don't think they'd remove it from ours.

I think it would be silly if they diddnt change it back, but it would make alot of people happy to keep it. (Myself being one of them)

At the moment, i don't care cause i leveled on my Buc after several months. But as many have said before. Having the curve is generally better for everyone, and it would be easier to level. If they don't keep it, so be it.

0.75 = x => 25% exp taken away
1 = 1.25x, thus
1/1.25 = x
0.8 = x => 20% exp taken away.
Yeah, it's a false claim by Nexon. It's really 20% less, not 25% more EXP.

It looks like Nexon is keeping the exp curve permanent

I thought you needed 50% less from lvl 1-30, but i just needed 15 exp on cygnus to lvl to lvl 2, did they change it so it's only the 30+ reduction?

It's 10-30. 1-10 has always been the same.

Its easy to get to 1-10. They made so many quests on MapleIsland, put pigs and stumps, and then they made it where your stats get reset when you job advance, so you can put everything into str, even if you want to be a mage.
Its super easy to get from 1-10
