I have a full 1080p version of Sky Crawlers and It lags so bad that I cant even watch it. Graphics card problem or is it something else. Also with normal 720p and other 1080's I often get small lags within the video and the video like re-pixelates for 5-10seconds. Any advice?

Do everything that's been said in this thread. If that doesn't work for you, I would be willing to bet your computer is just way too old.

Core AVC. Easy way to check if its because of your computer, open the task manager. If your CPU usage goes up to 99 - 100%, its because your computer is old basicially. Core AVC will solve this to an extent, like said earlier, because it works better with H264 than FFDshow. What're the specs of your computer?
