Does it work if, for example, I'm soloing papulatus and use on the last bits of his HP? Or does I need to use when the monster has full hp?

Meh, guess I'm just unlucky. The papulatus and pianus I solo'd and used 2x drop at the end only dropped me potions+mesos.

I heard the 2x drop buff doesn't work on bosses.
I remember someone bitching about why someone used the 2x drop buff on HT when it doesn't work.

I believe it does. I've never seen Scarlion/Targa dropping 3 helms without 2x/4x drop.

Oh I must've been quite tired. Disregard my earlier comments. I can't confirm it. For that while I thought it was a question on 2x exp. I've no experience with testing 2x drop on bosses.
