Recent natural disasters - Horusmaster - 2010-03-04 I think this is the first time that so many natural disaster has happened around the world in a very short period of time. Jan 12: Haiti earthquake Feb 27: Chile earthquake and Japan earthquake Mar 1: France storm Mar 4: Taiwan earthquake There might be more that I haven't heard of, but isn't it weird that so many natural disasters have happened so fast? Recent natural disasters - Corn - 2010-03-04 There was an earthquake in Japan and Taiwan? Recent natural disasters - Doxinator - 2010-03-04 Well I think that if the Earth's Crust moves so drastically in a short amount of time, it will affect the other plates around the world as well. I imagine that Utah will be hit sometime in the near future; we're due for a huge earthquake here. There have been a few, very very minor ones that cause no damage that occur, but pretty soon the big one has gotta let loose. Expected to be a 7.5+. Recent natural disasters - Nikkey - 2010-03-04 Just to inform you guys: The storm did not just hit France. It hit Portugal, Spain and Germany as well. I think it moves towards Denmark now, but I'm not entirely sure. I don't consider it weird that so many natural disasters happen. It might just be coincidence, or it may be due to some sort of domino-effect from movement in the plate tectonics. Recent natural disasters - Corn - 2010-03-04 The Japan and Taiwan earthquakes are not that strong. Only 7.0 and 6.4. No wonder I never heard of it. Recent natural disasters - Sarah - 2010-03-04 Anyone got a link to this "storm"? It must have been one hell of a storm to make it into the news. For the storms, El Nino. Recent natural disasters - Sarah - 2010-03-04 Devil's Sunrise Wrote:http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/europe/02/28/europe.storms/index.html Jeez, that's pretty brutal. The world is really getting pummeled right now. Recent natural disasters - Erich - 2010-03-04 On the el nino topic, that's why we've been the united states of snow the past few months. Can't exclude that, although not a natural disaster, it's still extremely out of place. There's been a few cold days but typically it was hovering around the freezing point which is extremely unusual. El nino rules... well... in Canada. Not so good elsewhere, clearly. Recent natural disasters - shroum - 2010-03-04 Arizona <3 No earth quakes ![]() The day we have one is the day that the 2012 epidemic will start. Recent natural disasters - FrozNlite - 2010-03-04 #1. Global Warming.
A tad off-topic
Recent natural disasters - Retalion - 2010-03-04 Don't you guys get it? It's a conspiracy...The US is behind all this in a plot to take over the world! I tend to see it as the disasters are always there, its just that they've never gotten the coverage that they have now. As for the weather, it's always been like this. Its a shame that Vancouver had literally little to no snow because of it during the olympics though. As for places due for an earthquake, they've been saying that Vancouver's 150 years overdue for a large earthquake. It still hasnt happened yet. Earthquakes can happen anytime, just like a volcano can blow anytime. Recent natural disasters - Tay - 2010-03-04 Maybe this counts, but the super weird winter this year. Seriously, snow in houston 2 times? Recent natural disasters - MasPan - 2010-03-04 The entire fault line for western Americas and eastern Asia has been bombarded by earthquakes for the past several months. Recent natural disasters - Corn - 2010-03-04 Oh no, it's the beginning of 2012! [/sarcasm] Recent natural disasters - holyforest - 2010-03-04 Xynthia is a very rare storm. It's almost uncommon for a storm of that power to actually hit Europe. Recent natural disasters - Berzerk - 2010-03-05 2012 is right around the corner. This is just the build up for the huge climax known as the end of the world. Recent natural disasters - MiSSHaku - 2010-03-05 Queensland, Australia is undergoing severe flooding. :X |
