Liteness Wrote:relax guys nexon is just scaring you into thinking you'll get banned so you'll do the work for them by tossing everything away, they're too lazy to check every single char on every single account

Laziness doesn't factor into searching every account. Only distinguishing hacked from non-hacked.

Collected wisdoms from Hime (most recent first)

Quote:From my experiences with these situations, hackers want roll backs. Now they won't get that satisfaction along with the items they exploited rendered useless.
Don't worry about the abusers. We'll deal with them and all the associated accounts we can get our hands on.

DarkZed: The problem is that even the Maple Weapons that dropped from monsters are untradable too, so I need to get rid of them?
No, it is only untradeable so the abusers can't do anything with the items before we get to them. Smile

I wouldn't see why legitimate earned coins and purchases would be affected. Smile
Just get rid of any items you bought from players that could have been obtained by exploited coins. We will deal with the abusers.

Q: What are exploited items?
A: Exploited items are items you may have purchased or randomly picked up from other players that obtained those items by exploiting the anniversary coins.

Q: How can I tell an item is exploited?
A: We will need you to use your best judgement.

Well, the notice asks for players to voluntarily remove items created by exploit coins. So... why would you need to get rid of them if its legit? Smile

You only need to get rid of the scrolls you have left. We aren't going to take your items from you.

If so I have spent way too much time over the last week hunting maple weapons. I thought I had 'til the 14th to get as many pink 20%s as I could.

I guess I fail at understanding months again, lol. Good god, and I thought you had to basically log on every day for 2 weeks to get Family Loyalty medals.

No it takes just as much effort to check 100 chars as it takes for 1000000 chars. They'll probably just run a script to ban everyone who has more than a certain thrashold of cscrolls/etc just like the last cscroll outbreak during the perfect pitch event.

The reason they're giving people a chance to get rid of the illegit items is so that they'll have less tickets to deal with compared to the backlash they would have gotten from "legit" players complaining about being banned due to buying cheap cscrolls. IMO, everyone knows full well the scrolls were hacked and anyone who bought them deserves to be banned

Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 05.08.2011 - Worthyness - 2011-05-09

So does that mean items scrolled by exploited scrolls are considered "exploited items" even when the person unknowingly bought the scrolls to scroll their own gear?

Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 05.08.2011 - Chicocl - 2011-05-09

So the important thing there is that you can use the exploit on a mule, then scroll some equips and tadah you are rich? because thats basically what they are saying, well i guess my 120 att karstan is ruined.......

yeaaa banning people just like if they had 4000+ white scrolls too eh? haha that never happened so dont think anything will happen from nexon

Lolling if my previously held chaos scrolls from months ago either

A) get me banned when i have yet to log in during this event

or

B) inflate massively.

PS. The Chaos Scrolls are not only untradeable, they're unusable.

Quote:We recently addressed an exploit with Anniversary Coins that allowed hackers to manipulate and obtain Anniversary items. The exploit has been blocked and the abusers (and associations) will be dealt with. However, the items bought with exploited Anniversary coins have entered the game market and we need to have them removed.

For now all anniversary weapons and items obtained from Inkwell and Inkie are temporarily untradeable (some unuseable) to prevent the spread of exploited items. This block does include legitimately earned items and again, the block is temporary.

During this time we need our players to get rid of any items bought from other players or randomly picked up that could have been obtained by exploited Anniversary coins. Our players have until May 15 to get rid of exploited items or be subjected to our discretion. We understand differentiating between exploited or legitimate items is difficult and we ask you to use your best judgment.

If you legitimately earned your items you do not need to get rid of them. Such as
- Earning Maple weapons through hunting.

- Earning Anniversary items through anniversary coins you made such as collecting leaves or turning in anniversary items you hunted.

- Items you know were bought from legitimate sellers.

- Unknowingly used exploited scrolls on your items.
We are only after items generated by the coins exploit, not your hard earned items.

Thank you for your cooperation!.

Drop only leftover scrolls then? o_O

Which is full of lies.

I have a Karstan that was brought into the game before this event, and even that thing is untradeable. What laziness.Rolleyes

Or would you rather have a 60 hour maintenance that constitutes Nexon looking at every single Maple item in the game and seeing when they were created?

I would. Hell, I don't care if they take a week off to as much as they possibly can.

Good think they ARE taking a week off to work on this then. Or did you forget they're giving us till the 15th to do the majority of the work for them? You get your wish, Nexon keeps getting money, legits can still play normally, and no exploit after affects arise. Everyone wins. Quit complaining.

I REALLY WISH Nexon Japan would do this, except with Chinese hackers instead of equipment (since I know JMS doesn't have that problem).

As for GMS, I think it needs to be done, really. Shut the game down for a week and completely wipe things clean. Make the game sparkly and stuff again (not really, but lol).

No way in hell am I dropping the 20% 1 handed pink scrolls which I legitimately earned.

Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 05.08.2011 - FoolsLove - 2011-05-09

It seems rather inevitable that there are going to be a lot of legit players being banned as a result of this because they decided not to a rollback one of the times it was necessary to reverse the damage done.

Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 05.08.2011 - street - 2011-05-09

Well good thing i didnt turn in most of my coins. I only have one pink scroll. I will just turn in coins after the ban is over to get my scrolls

I really didnt see maple weapons selling for that much before the exploit. Max i saw an item was 10m at most. With such a good droprate why bother buying clean maple weapons?

Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 05.08.2011 - Liteness - 2011-05-09

what happens if you bought chaos scrolls from exploit, then traded in coins for legit scroll, u wouldnt know the diff f2, would you still throw all ur chaos scrolls out even if you traded in coins for 10+ scrolls?
