Baphomet boss looks like fun

With how the current Maple community is, I can't help, but have my doubts. Granted that won't stop people like me from trying to solo them if possible just for the challenge, if there is one.

I can't wait to see how actual "raid bosses" will be done.

Maybe, but it's not like the only people who are going to play MS2 are just going to be people who played the first maplestory.
I heard plenty of people who haven't played the first game who want to try out MS2.

It's not like MS2 isn't going to have the typical cycle of, "OMFG NEW GAME" -> "This game is fucking terrible" -> "I like it for [reasons]," that every new MMO has. It doesn't matter who did or did not like MS1, people will try MS2 simply because the MMO market is so stale that people will try anything regardless of their past statements/feelings.

Eh? To be honest your reply is slightly confusing me.
I was more referring to the fact that the community would not entirely be the same as the one we have in current maplestory.

My point is that we'll have plenty of people who have nothing to do with MS1 along with people who do. The games will have nothing in relation, in the end, when it comes to community because there's tons of people who will join whatever is new regardless of what it was based off of.

I miss seeing picture updates now...

So your point is literally the same as his.

Got it.

Why? The new videos they're pushing out are way more informative than chibi thunder thighs. They don't seem to be trying to overhype it in either medium, too. If the videos were too overhype instead of the "here are some things you can do" and "we took some inspiration from specific MS1 content for this" style they're doing it would be pretty boring.

I much prefer videos to the artwork too, even if these videos were all shown at the Supporter's Day thing before (which I think they were? these are just in higher quality), my only gripe is that I wish I knew what the developers were saying in the little interview sections Frown

Technically we weren't supposed to see those videos that early because one of the supporters had leaked it.

That's what I missed, the thunder thigh drama. After knowing so enough about the game, I wish we had some more saucy stuff to talk about.

No gameplay here, but a look at some MS2 related posters/merch/figurines. The Bella figurine at the end looked really nice! I'd definitely buy some of those if I could haha

http://orangemushroom.net/2014/08/15/maplestory-2-alpha-testing/

So Alpha Testing has ended and Max translated what info he found via surfing.

Cliff Notes:

-You use an arrow key format instead of WASD, and POV can be changed.
-Mana (MP) is replaced with Stamina (SP) and can be healed with certain skills but not items.
-A new stat, EP, is used for avoiding attacks or actions that involve movement.
-STR/DEX/LUK/INT, Critical Rate and all the other stats from MS1 returns in MS2. From the looks of it, Accuracy may have a purpose in the game.
-Potions will now have a cooldown rate except for potions that heal over time.

Also,
Max Wrote:Items are required to be picked up but mesos are looted automatically.

When you die, you drop a tombstone which if other people destroy, you can be revived! However, this can only be done once with a grey tombstone, the next time you die you will have a black tombstone that cannot be broken.

Stamina (SP) is capped at 100

There is now Defense, and also Physical and Magical Resistance. (and Crit res)

Active skills use SP, but action skills use EP, skills are leveled from crystals.

Wizards seem to be able to use multiple elements (instead of the f/p or i/l)

There is an Auction House, and an Achievement (trophy) system.

Parties are up to 10

Most important of all: When you enter the water, a ducky tube will automatically be equipped.

I'm gonna make the Duck Gang Guild in MS2, duck floaties, duck clothes, and giant duck mounts. Perfect.
