Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Pewsks - 2014-11-19 That's so annoying. Why release all the megas before the game even releases? What is there to even be hyped for. Idk if I want to buy this after hearing about no new megas and no Battle Frontier. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Zerard - 2014-11-19 Personally, it really doesn't affect me. I feel it doesn't matter what time you learn of all these new megas (whether it be pre release or during) because the result you arrive at is just the same; you just get it at different times. If anything, I feel it's actually a good thing that they showed us the whole batch, because you know exactly what you'd be getting yourself into before it was too late. That, and everyone was hyped during their reveals, so I'm a little confused as to why all the excitement suddenly petered out a few days before release. As for the excitement petering out, people were excited to dive into a game to, as mentioned, find stuff on their own. Some of us were excited to hopefully see our favorites from gen3 receive a mega not revealed, like flygon or milotic, or cacturne, or shiftry. Instead we got nothing to look forward to finding out ourselves. Switch 'megas' with 'any unrevealed aftergame' and that'd also work for the first line. Personally, I was a bit upset when I noticed I may not have had enough money to get ORAS on release day after some shopping today, then I saw the reactions since the datamining, then I looked at it myself, and suddenly I'm fine with not getting it immediately. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Christian - 2014-11-19 Let's say GameFreak really does throw a swerve here and gives us a DLC/Patch.. would we be able to see that data now or not? If not there is still hope! Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - KhainiWest - 2014-11-19 If there's no mega milotic I'll be giving away the game for free to someone. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Frostilyte - 2014-11-19 I'm not surprised. Kinda going the way of movie trailers where we see all of the good stuff before we even experience the full thing. I am still looking forward to running around Hoenn again none the less. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Link - 2014-11-19 Now that the games' releases are upon us, the debacle of what starter to choose is clawing at my brain. -I raised a Blaziken in both X and Y, so it'll be really redundant and probably pretty boring to go with that guy again. Plus, I can just breed one and send it over. -My room mate is going with Swampert, so there's less incentive to go with that. However, Swampert looks pretty good for a defensive Pokemon, with the fact that it only has one weakness. -I have no idea about Treeco. He looks kind of cool, but I've never ever started with a Grass type Pokemon (I've always done fire). I did some research and while it sounds like his stats are great, his moveset looks disappointing. I very may go Treeco, since my friend wants Omega Ruby, thus I'll be getting Alpha Sapphire (and Kyogre, a water type). Does anyone know if we're going to be getting a second set of starter Pokemon, like we did in X and Y? That'd make things interesting. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - OrionTempest - 2014-11-19 Personally, I can see why they'd reveal everything before release; they know that people will datamine the crap out of it and reveal every little secret anyway. I'd rather have things discovered after the games release, either through discovering it normally or datamining it than having everything revealed beforehand and having no surprises. My hype for the game has flatlined knowing that they already revealed everything. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Zerard - 2014-11-19 I wonder if this is really an issue of discovering it for yourself, or being disappointed that x mega didn't make it in. Because it sounds to me everyone wanted 'muh mega flygon, milotic, etc', and when they found out they weren't getting them, the blase comments came a flowin'. Even if we weren't presented with the information beforehand, people would be disappointed to see that there are only these amount of megas, and their favorites didn't get a form. Again, just a matter of when you experience the information, not necessarily how. It's a Hoenn remake. the Johto and Kanto remakes didn't have megas; did that make them unexciting? So now I am merely holding my word MAYBE IF YOU KNEW WHAT CONVICTION MEANS, LET ME DEMONSTRATE IT TO YOU.

I honestly liked every reveal of a new mega pokemon, it's exciting. Discovering them for the first time is even more exciting though. It's silly that in a game where every new reveal is hyped and every new discovery is exciting that they would reveal everything beforehand. If we hadn't have had them revealed, people would have eventually been disappointed when all of them are discovered, of course they would be. It was disappointing when X and Y was leaking and Noibat was the final new pokemon discovered. But the excitement of discovering pokemon like Pumpkaboo, Goomy, Bergmite ect or mega evos like Mega Pinsir and such was more than enough hype to make up for that. Considering that one of the major selling points of this game is the new mega evolutions, yeah, it's super disappointing. Especially when new stuff is supposed to be a draw to make us buy a game that we have essentially bought and played before. I honestly liked every reveal of a new mega pokemon, it's exciting. Discovering them for the first time is even more exciting though. I don't know. In my -personal opinion-, I feel 'exploring the game' is sort of redundant, because the remake is exactly that- a remake. Playing the game completely remade in 3D isn't enough of a draw? And what of this new Delta Episode we just heard of? What is it that it entails, exactly. And who knows? Unless you have the game for yourself, you can't in all confidence say that are new megas, and that's all. In all honesty, maybe the could have shown us a few new megas, and let the rest be up to the players. I'm still pretty happy with mega Gallade and Altaria myself; knowing about them ahead of time has only made me want them more. But I know everyone is different. Maybe people would have liked to hold onto that hope, even if it would ultimately be ill-founded. (And I'm not trying to be facetious- this even happens to me sometimes) But anyone can feel how they want, I guess. Seeing people getting discouraged and sour over a game they haven't even played themselves yet is sort of offsetting on a subjective level. |
