I've been playing with my friends for a while and it's been amazing. We haven't progressed at all in 6 hours (we're still in wood/copper, and the occasional shadow armor piece that dropped in the corruption) but it has been incredibly fun.
I made Amethyst and Sapphire wands today, and the latte's such an improvement... They're very nice starting ranged weapons though, especially with the improvement of mana gain.

Not really relevant to any of you guys, but it's an achievement for me. Finally made a perpetual obsidian generator. It's not 100% perfect, which is why I need the tiny spot to create infinite lava, and I can only mine ~400-500 pieces of obsidian before the lava pumps start acting funky and I gotta manually get it flowing again, but again it's free gold. Have no problems with the water pumps, which is fine with me. The empty generator was obviously my first failed attempt at making a working generator.
Now to get the money for reforges, and turn my house into a floating home before I hit that hard mode switch. I hear terrible things about clowns. Like the creepers of this game, but not as cuddly.
Patch-wise, rope is too good. I burn through more rope than I burn through torches or even wooden platforms. In fact, I only really need wooden platforms now so I don't fall into stuff like lava.

EDIT: Had absolutely no problem tonight with leaving the server up, so the only "shutdowns" that'll happen is when my router asplodes.
EDIT2: Seems like the "Chest Locking" bug is back. I TEdit xferred my old base to a 1.2 map and all the chests that have stuff in them won't open, but the chests that were already empty still function as normal.

Any of you guys know how to make mushroom blocks and stuff? I know you can craft a work bench, chair, door and wall but I could have sworn there were videos showing off more furniture and some housing blocks and stuff. Trying to make a mushroom/nature home.

I really think they should continue to build on Terraria, rather than making a new game.
I want them to add a powered vehicle that goes along horizontal ropes so that my sky-ropeline is more useful.

I think the idea of traveling beyond the regular world has been floating around since 2011 or something. There was supposed to be a space biome as well which is why there's that bit at the top in current worlds, but nothing ever came of it. He's also stated interests in other dimensions and pomegranate like that.
He wants Terraria 2 to be the "actual game", instead of JUST generating a world and pineappleing around with whatever. IIRC he wants there to be a story and whatnot in 2 and even a "better" graphic style, but we'll have to see. I think the rumor is 2 might be 2.5D.
I know I'll buy it ASAP once it's out regardless. Over 700 hours so far on Terraria "1" so I've been happy with the game and I'm definitely interested in an "enhanced version" in the future.

It's really starting to piss me off. For whatever reason my computer loses internet connection ONLY AT NIGHT, at randomly intervals, until I restart.

I made 5 Queen Bee spawners, I used one, killed the Queen Bee, and now we have the Witch Doctor NPC for the world
I'll put the other 4 in the chest at my ice castle, in case anyone wants some Bee weapons.
I also got the Queen Bee trophy and stuck it on the wall in the main hall with the other trophy

What bosses even give the trophies? I figured every "boss" would drop one, but Eye of Cthulu and Eater of Worlds don't give one. Don't even know if the Hard Mode bosses give one either.

They do drop them, but not all the time. I have the EoW trophy and it took several kills to get it.

Trophies are around 10% chance to drop. On average it takes me like 8~10 kills to get a single one. Bee gave me 2 in 8 though.
