Terraria discussion thread - 案山子 - 2012-02-24 It's a huge risk to pass the game to a different team, especially depending on what type of deal they can strike up. I've personally never even heard of that company until that tweet was pointed out on the Terraria forums. I wouldn't have any hope whatsoever for it to be passed to a different team because it's all up to what Red believes is best for his own project. If he wants it to be over with then that's that. Terraria discussion thread - Dark Link - 2012-02-24 案山子 Wrote:If he wants it to be over with then that's that. The problem with that is people are already trying to do "Unofficial Patch Updates". Terraria discussion thread - Dark Link - 2012-02-29 Red responds to community Can't say I'm pleased with some of his answers... Quote: - Promised updates - Terraria discussion thread - Jon - 2012-02-29 heh, at least he admits he's bad at PR. Terraria discussion thread - iamflip - 2012-02-29 Dark Link Wrote:Red responds to community So we were the lab rats then? ![]() But yeah... this doesn't sit well with me either. This game has potential to keep going, and he just gave up on it. At the very least he really should consider handing the game off to someone else that can do it justice. Terraria discussion thread - Shidoshi - 2012-02-29 I have to disagree and say that Terraria had hit it's limit. All the new stuff that came out with the last big update was already pushing it a bit. I find the way the hardmode bosses were made stupid, it limits you to melee gear simply because you can't avoid damage so you need raw defense. Terraria discussion thread - 案山子 - 2012-02-29 I respect his response, because it's true. If he was no longer ''in it'' I'm glad he decided to end it, otherwise it would start to show in the game itself that he wasn't caring for the project anymore. It's how Minecraft was when Notch was behind the wheel: He would just laze around, update when he felt like it, doing just whatever he felt like doing in those updates, etc. Also, like I was telling my fiance, if he passed the game off to another company then THEY would put THEIR influence into the game, and often times that is a very bad thing, especially for a game that has ''its own style'' like Terraria. I'm perfectly happy with his honest response, especially because I pretty much knew all of this before he made that post. I respect him, and I can understand where he's coming from. Anyone who still doesn't understand where he's coming from can't understand in my opinion. It's much deeper than just, ''herpderp he quit derpderp''. You'd have to be a fool to have that mentality. I'm looking forward to his next project. Terraria discussion thread - Born2BeMild - 2012-03-12 He wasn't bad at PR, Blue was. other than that, I agree with him and got more than my money's worth on this game, and I still pick it up from time to time. I would prefer to have it die young than go on to be milked. Terraria discussion thread - Ryukiroku - 2012-09-10 Thread revive due to news from the official twitter/facebook with the big announcement coming tomorrow: [tweet]https://twitter.com/Terraria_Logic/status/245101300591767552[/tweet] [tweet]https://twitter.com/Terraria_Logic/status/245159809471614978[/tweet] Also confirmed by the official forums administrator as well: http://www.terrariaonline.com/threads/something-is-bubbling-in-the-terraria-pot-facebook-message.91740/ Anyone have any ideas? Something as big as a Terraria revival? Terraria discussion thread - Jon - 2012-09-10 And it just so happens it was on sale this weekend...
Terraria discussion thread - Polantaris - 2012-09-10 Interesting. I remember a thread on their official forums way back that they had a ton of interesting ideas to add to the game...and then they just stopped. Honestly the whole "Hard Mode" deal was annoying, especially on servers. Play a build server, people activate Hard Mode, now your building experience is a horrible experience. Would love it to be more areas in normal mode, with a ton more building related objects. Either that or it's just the new game Re-Logic was apparently working on. Terraria discussion thread - Razmos - 2012-09-10 Probably gonna be an IOS port. Not interested. Terraria discussion thread - Dark Link - 2012-09-10 Just gonna say this right now, if they DO do something to the game that warrants a return, the SP server doesn't exist anymore since my old HDD died and ate all of the Terraria stuff. Terraria discussion thread - FenixR - 2012-09-10 Awwwwww my deadly laba trap QQ Terraria discussion thread - Dark Link - 2012-09-10 Biggest speculation going on right now is either Steamworks or SDK release. I'm ok with either. Terraria discussion thread - Ryukiroku - 2012-09-11 Cue PC disappointment. The game's coming to PSN and XBLA: ![]() I'm somewhat excite for it but not as much. There is going to be new content on this version though. Terraria discussion thread - Kirov - 2012-09-11 Why does it feel like every announcement these days is always a let down. If the new content makes it's way to PC then that's fine. Terraria discussion thread - Razmos - 2012-09-11 I think I speak for most of us when I say: "Booo! Hisss, kill it with fire" Terraria discussion thread - Polantaris - 2012-09-11 Ryukiroku Wrote:Cue PC disappointment. The game's coming to PSN and XBLA: PC disappointment has been cued. That's awful. Razmos said iOS port and I immediately thought "probably," mostly because of the fact that I had just seen a $7 Minecraft port on the Google Play Store. Terraria discussion thread - Dark Link - 2012-09-11 Watch as the PC version doesn't get this "new content" whatsoever. Oh well, there's always Starbound! |
