Interestingly Mega Steelix has been specified to be found in the Japanese demo and Mega Glalie has been specified to be found in the Korean demo.
Are there different megas depending on the region?

Also American demo codes won't be given out until the 20th and they specified that you have until then to change your settings to allow newsletters and such.

Also Mega Glalie is Ice/Dragon. somehow. EDIT: Or.. not? apparently it was confirmed and then reconfirmed but now Serebii is saying it is pure Ice type.
It gets the ability Refrigerate though, which is awesome.

Not a fan of Mega Glalie's design.
Dragon and ice? Sounds interesting, but not really desirable defensively...

Also, how does this demo work? I haven't found anything written about how it works that is simple (or stupid) enough for me to understand. Tongue
Any explanation from one of you folks in the know would be greatly appreciated.

Mega Steelix looks pretty damn cool, but what the hell is with Mega Glalie?... It looks putrid!

Since you are in Canada, if you sign up to the Pokemon Trainer Club Newsletter by signing up at Pokemon.com and allowing them to send you newsletters, you will get an email on the 20th or the 21st which should contain a serial code which you can enter on the 3DS E-shop to download the demo.

In the demo you start with the middle-evolution of the starter pokemon and its mega stone and you can get items and pokemon that you can transfer over to the main game, including the 2 mega evolutions seen above. and possibly more

Mega steelix looks like a spatula on steroids

Trainer customization is not in the game. Apparently it was a Kalos-only thing, according to Masuda.

I am truly sick of them adding awesome features and then removing them in the next game. I understand certain things like contests or diving in Ruby and Sapphire, or the Underground in Diamond and Pearl. but something as simple and as desired as trainer customization...

And this just makes it even clearer that the new Soaring mechanic in ORAS is going to disappear in the next game.

Where'd you find this exactly? I was hoping it'd stick around. Tongue

Edit: A friend just sent me the link as if he knew I was looking for it Rolleyes

Here
Quote:During an event last week, Game Freak's Junichi Masuda confirmed that trainer customization had been removed from the upcoming remakes: "In terms of the customization of the trainer, that was really kind of a special thing for the Kalos region, which featured this kind of motif of France and really focused on this beauty and fashion aspect, which is why it was a prominent feature in that game. For this game, we're focusing on adventuring elements, so we don't have the actual free customization of the trainer, but you'll see the items you use throughout the game visually represented; for example, when you're underwater, you'll have this little mouthpiece that lets you breathe. So there's some cool stuff for how your trainer changes clothes and puts on accessories throughout the game."

It has also been confirmed in an interview with NTower that, although X & Y are compatible with Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, X & Y will not receive a patch to include the new Mega Evolutions and Primal Reversions.

So we can finally patch the games and they choose not to Rolleyes

ORAS development began Nov. 21st 2012, the 10 year anniversary for Ruby and Sapphire in Japan. Also, here's the full interview.

Definitely called it and for virtually the exact same reason they gave as well. :/ It was definitely too good to be true.

I find it really odd that they'd remove the feature of character customization. I thought it was a step towards allowing the player to feel more connected with their game by letting them create their own unique trainer. This let everyone style their character after their own personal style preferences, or in their own image.
Or in my case, making your character a pretty princess.

Of all of the non-game mechanic features they've added and removed throughout the series I personally find this to be the largest misstep.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Razmos - 2014-10-14

Even if they didn't want to bring back clothing customization, I definitely think they should have kept skin-tone customization.
It's just a waste of a cool system, the games are on the same engine so it's not like it wasn't compatible. It's a stupid decision.

Anyway, on a more positive note, pokemon caught through the Dexnav feature can have hidden abilities or "rare moves". I didn't get what it meant by rare moves, but a feature on Kotaku mentioned that pokemon caught through Dexnav can have egg moves, which is pretty cool.

Does this go for the US, too? Allowing e-mails from Pokemon, not Club Nintendo?

Yup, just do it by the 20th. Newsletters get sent out the 21st.

Woo, Refrigerate Explosions!

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Razmos - 2014-10-14

European demos contain Mega Glalie. which i'm guessing means the US demo has Mega Steelix.

Demo Spoilers:
 Spoiler

I kinda wish the demo hadn't been spoiled for me (I checked Serebii to relay the info about the US demo, and caught it just as Mega Steelix was revealed) but eh, I would have hated playing through the demo 10 times for such crap rewards anyway *shrug*

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Gymleaders - 2014-10-14

Mega Glalie! I would'dve much rather had mega Froslass though. It used to be my favorite startup Pokemon to throw entry hazards down.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced - Zerard - 2014-10-14

Aw, really? Oh well, I guess I'll still play through the game to get the rewards simply because.

Can you transfer the pokemon you get at least?
