I've been playing for years, and the only shiny I ever got was in Silver, and it was a Magby.

>_<

You mean the one from the Odd Egg which has a 14% chance of being shiny? (50% in the japanese versions) Tongue

To be fair, I've never encountered a shiny until Gen 6 anyway. The only shiny I ever got that wasn't from an event or a gift was my Shiny Drifblim, which I soft-resetted for.

I've only found 2 shinies that weren't from some sort of event or gift ingame, Swinub in Crystal version and Shinx in Diamond, which I found very early in the game and was the 2nd Pokemon caught counting my starter.

See, I prefer to keep him in his Doublade evo.
No Guard is so much fun.

First shiny I encountered was a Koffing in Cinnabar Mansion (Fire Red). After the first ultra ball I threw, it self destructed.

Tears were shed.

Pokémon X and Y Playthrough Discussion - Hanabira.Kage - 2013-11-03

Hmm...I don't remember getting any in Gen I or II, but I got a Shiny Gulpin in Sapphire and a Shiny Pidgey and Rattata in Firered (after evolving my non-shiny Pidgey. Curses!). For this game so far I've found shiny Pancham and Teddiursa.

That's about it.

Pokémon X and Y Playthrough Discussion - SuperNerd - 2013-11-03

I've actually ran into a pretty high number of shinies, but unfortunately, I was only able to catch like 3 of them, cause the rest, well, you can probably guess:

- Shiny Rattata in Pokemon Gold; I ended up KOing it, because it was at the beginning of the game, and I was like 10-12 at the time and had no idea what the hell shinies were or that they were special. I remember reading about it later on and throwing a mini-fit.
- Shiny Zubat in Pokemon Gold; I was redeemed later on by finding a shiny Zubat only a few hours later. I caught it and for the rest of that game I used it on my team, eventually giving me a shiny Crobat. I loved that thing.
- Shiny Abra in Pokemon FireRed; take a guess at what happened. If you can't guess: after my Great Ball failed to catch it, it teleported away.
- Shiny Graveler in HeartGold; unfortunately it was in a later portion of the game, thus it was higher leveled and self-destructed.
- Shiny Zigzagoon in Ruby; caught it, but I quickly forgot about it because it was a bloody Zigzagoon.
- Shiny Sandile in Pokemon Black 2; what was even more amazing was that it was also an Adamant Nature. I eventually traded it to one of my friends because he wanted it. Desperately.

I've only run into five shinies. Originally it was a mightyena which my friend flipped over because he thought I was hacking. A nincada (which eventually led to a shiny shedinja). Rayquaza (I had to reset so many times for him). A Absol back in black and white. and a sentret in Y. I might have run into more but I know those are the ones I caught at the least.

Pokémon X and Y Playthrough Discussion - Rinax - 2013-11-03

I think my shiny rate's 0. Frown

Pokémon X and Y Playthrough Discussion - 案山子 - 2013-11-03

Before this gen the last time I encountered shinies was in Gen 2. First one was a Poliwag but I had no Poke Balls to catch it with. Second was a Rattata that I caught and evolved but stored it right after and never used.

Literally 0 shinies since then until now.

Pokémon X and Y Playthrough Discussion - Crowhogan33 - 2013-11-03

Pre-Gen VI, the only shiny I've ever encountered is a shiny Spearow in Fire Red. I remember not knowing what a shiny pokemon was back then, but it looked cool and so I caught it. I can't recall what happened to it though...

If any of you happen to have Articuno and/or Zapdos I would sure love to get them traded to me and trade them back to you for dex entry.

As of this post I have the Central completed.
Coastal needs Articuno and Zapdos
Mountain needs Wigglytuff and Gliscor.

Edit: Mountain is now complete! (or will be once it hits night time to level up this Gligar)

caught a togepi in a friend safari and it has FOUR perfect IVs: defense, special attack, special defense, and speed.

hadkjfahdkfjsdhfdj. time to BREED with my perfect HP/spD togekiss.. when it becomes a togetic of course!

however i do not have a shiny stone, need to get one, maybe perhaps for a while i'll go on wifi and try out eviolite togetic

Pokémon X and Y Playthrough Discussion - Prism - 2013-11-03

Bah I wish I could get a 4 IV togepi.

Right now working with a 4 IV ditto HP, Def, Sp Def, Speed and Togetic with HP, Sp Att, Sp Def. Trying to pass the dittos IV to a Plusle for nasty plot. Taking forever.

Pokémon X and Y Playthrough Discussion - Kubi - 2013-11-03

I bred Togepi/Togetic a while back, and got finally got one that I want; 31 IV into HP, Def, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and speed with nasty plot and serene grace. It's modest though, but that works for me. Yeah, it's a bit annoying to breed it with good IVs since you can't have Togepi breed itself. Fastest way was burning my money on buying vitamins for it to evolve.

I have quite bit of them, mostly all modest and random IVs into several different stats, but with nasty plot. I have one particular Togepi with the same perfect IV stats as above, but has hustle. There is an option with the ability capsule to change its ability to serene grace from the battle maison place, but I just think it's too expensive. I can pass a Togepi to you, or trade my good IV Togepi for something else if you want.

Pokémon X and Y Playthrough Discussion - Pink Bean - 2013-11-03

so i was breeding and i found out the female i caught has hustle (80% chance to pass on the ability with same species parents).. went to the safari to find another girl togepi with 31 in HP + serene grace, and:

Togepi - #175 (Calm) (70, 17, 53, 38, 58, 26)
HP: 30 - 31 (70 HP, this is probably max)
Att: 7 - 9
Def: 31 (characteristic max)
SpA: 30 - 31
SpD: 30 - 31
Speed: 30 - 31

holy SHIIIIIIIIT. it's got serene grace even this is crazy. it's almost like i RNG'd this mon with this kind of IV spread!
confirmed 31 in defense, special attack, speed by the judge. 30 in special defense/HP is fine with me, as it's really nothing to flip out about when i can't exactly make perfection happen quickly
