Off Topic: Speaking of cheap, how much can one get a 60GB PS3 or Any Xbox360 (assuming they all can play all games) or a PSP (3000 I think it was)? Been way behind on the current gen, picking up loads of the PS1 classics that I missed instead. That and blowing money on PC games via steam since my friends introduced it to me. I mean sure, I have 63 incomplete games in my library (all legit) and 8 or 9 seasons of DVDs to catch up on, but that doesn't mean I can stop collecting when a gem shows it's head.

Well.... heres the current situation with current-gen consoles.
Xbox360:
All xbox 360s can play all current games. Getting one with a hard drive IS preferred but not needed. Im sure you can pick up a refurb from gamestop or somewhere like that for about 100-150ish. Xbox Live (From what ive heard) has better online chat but you do have to pay for it. You can also use Netflix, live.fm, and rent movies from the zune marketplace. Soon you will soon be able to watch Hulu Plus
PS3:
The PS3 seems to be catching up with games. Alot of ports to the PS3 seem to suffer this "PS3 Porting Syndrome" where the game loses quality, has longer loading times, and sometimes gets choppy. The PS3 can play Blurays, and has free online gaming. Netflix is supported and movie rentals are also supported. Currently, the PS3 is being... exploited. In the past few weeks or so since the first "Hack" has become available, alot of progress has occurred. The downside to this is not being able to upgrade your firmware and not being able to play online. A 60 gb used from gamestop is $350 but this is due to it being able to play ps2 games probably. its cheaper to just get a current slim for 300 new.

XBOX360: Wasn't sure, never researched it, was mainly looking at Tales when I was considering this.
PS3: Not much has changed then... I wonder if the national distribution center down the street where I got my PS2 refurbished a while ago could have some spare units laying around for cheap.
PSP: Kinda low priority anyhow since a friend lent me his a while back with a number of the games I was interested in. Still maybe 5 or 6 I wanted to try, but nothing all that intense.

As of TODAY PS3's have OtherOS re-instated. I think alot more can be done with the PS3 over the Xbox

I really wanted to love this, but I can't. The 3DS still seems like a a prototype to me, and after the DSi[XL], I think it just looks very unappealing. The fact that the screens are different sizes doesn't really bother me, but the off-center position of the top one does. I like the updated specs and the great games, but I'll probably hold off until the 3DS2 (these names are getting silly).

I just meant for Ridge Racer. That was probably the decision on the developers part to not up the graphics a bit.The screens of the Ridge Racer game don't show how powerful the 3DS can get, as proven by how well the 3DS stacks against the Xbox 360 in RE and Street Fighter. I'm not saying the 3DS has better graphics than the Xbox but that it looks really good compared to a home console, even though it's a handheld.
