Nexon America's answer about Masteria - SwordStaker - 2010-09-01 aslemn Wrote:Well, they promised such expansions since Masteria has shown up, one area per year is just too slow, as they said, it takes a lot of time, but not that much. I really doubt they'll make a good work like NxJoew / Nxprose has done. The proof is Haunted House 2.Ok now you have to admit, as CRAPPY as the haunted house 2 story was, the traning areas were AMAZING. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - aslemn - 2010-09-01 SwordStaker Wrote:Ok now you have to admit, as CRAPPY as the haunted house 2 story was, the traning areas were AMAZING. Yes, i didn't mean the useful aspect of areas. But comparing the result of previous ones. Like BGM's composed for those areas, story, etc. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - SwordStaker - 2010-09-01 aslemn Wrote:Yes, i didn't mean the useful aspect of areas. But comparing the result of previous ones. Like BGM's composed for those areas, story, etc.I will FULLY agree with how crappy the story line is. But hey what can you expect? It was an event area, not permanent. All I'm saying is combattne said the visitior storyline is crappy, it's not done yet. WHENyes I said when, a new Masteria place comes out we'll make an assumption then. But for now, don't say it'll be crappy. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - Takebacker - 2010-09-01 I'm going to assume all further attempts at masteria will be trash. It's been so long that it's stupid to say they're having trouble with time constraints when they have a HUGE idea pool to draw from. (literally at least 5 areas they could release that are linked with masteria in lore and there are even hefty descriptions for some of these areas and their inhabitants) Nexon America's answer about Masteria - SwordStaker - 2010-09-01 Takebacker Wrote:I'm going to assume all further attempts at masteria will be trash. I think it's more of the what do we release now?Do we do Karkia now? Or, do we do Versal. Plus the making of it would take a while. Remember back when MSEA went to Korea and saw Eldestine and know one knew what it was? It was MONTHS later that it came out. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - Worthyness - 2010-09-01 i have the feeling they know what they're doing, but not doing it all at a reasonable pace. Once a year is too slow, and releasing boring/not fun storylines compared to the epicness of NLC and CWK, is really not interesting. Yeah we got an event pq that was about a "long lost daughter". They could have done much better storyline wise. I would just really like to see something beyond: oh hey we already established everything and it's all set, but let's go "improve" the old stuff. The place has so much potential and it is FAR from reaching it right now. I'd rather it come sooner than later because that would mean less filler and more perma. You've got to spice things up every now and then instead of Filler.. minor adjustment... filler... filler... filler. OMGWTF patch... filler... filler... filller Nexon America's answer about Masteria - ChaosCorpse - 2010-09-01 SwordStaker Wrote:Ok now you have to admit, as CRAPPY as the haunted house 2 story was, the traning areas were AMAZING. Probably just me, but those areas disappointed me in that they removed the pumpkin vault for them. That was my sanctuary . I still have the Onmi-Key anyhow, along with Sophillia's Necklace... but then, I'm a pack-rat.On Topic: I just want them to release content that is diverse in it's presentation like the originals were. Not just training areas. There needs to be quests, pqs, jump quests (not that I like them), special items and other such things to make a new area fresh and not forgettable. One thing I would definitely like to see more of are chairs that are a challenge to get, but can be done at any time through quests. Finally getting cards for masterian stuff wouldn't hurt either. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - Takebacker - 2010-09-01 @ above: Why develop monster book cards when they know monster book is removed with big bang? Assuming there's at least ONE person as good as Xakris or whoever that was who made monster book cards for fun on SP that works for nexon making the images shouldn't be hard. The rest is just gathering information that's in their database, so it wouldn't take long, but it'll be deleted by the end of the year anyway. SwordStaker Wrote:I don't think it's the idea. Remember back when MSEA went to Korea and saw Eldestine and know one knew what it was? It was MONTHS later that it came out. It's been public knowledge that it takes months to make original sprites since they hand-pixel everything for a while now. We've known that since what? 2008? @ Edelstein: We already know they segment their development so they DON'T focus on just one thing at a time. Just because we saw them working on (the library?) doesn't mean it was supposed to come out REALLY soon... That was my sanctuaryI think one of the other things that was so refreshing about Crimsonwood is that doing the quests gave you tangible benefits besides the EXP from completion or whatever. Finish the Ninja's first quest? Shop open for you! two? Forging! hike up the mountain and find jack - now you can use the secret gates to navigate the forest's maze easier! Hike up to the top and grab some feathers? No more jump quests for you! Probably more than any other area, you'd find that any random 3rd job-ish person would have these quests completed if only because it makes life much easier for them. They're *worth* the effort, unlike a lot of others. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - MetaSeraphim - 2010-09-01 LongShotJohn Wrote:I still have the Onmi-Key anyhow, along with Sophillia's Necklace Huh, me too. I knew there was those who kept the Onmi-Key, the Sophillia's Necklace is a different story though. We've known that since what? 2008?Thats my point and the fact it was released when it was kinda proved it to me. Most people think these areas can just pop up over night, and thats one thing I like about SP MOST 98% of the people on here understand that, and can actually make reasonable arguments to back up their claims. What I think we should take about Masteria is this:Yes things will come. Will they be as epic as they were before? We won't know until it comes will we?Many will argue no, but theres no physical proof. Just because one area was bad, two event story lines, does NOT mean a permanent one will be horrible. Does -Hime- sound POed to anyone?: Hime Wrote:There isn't a yes or a no to this question. I can say no now and then I could be wrong in the future, or if I say yes, I also can be wrong. There isn't a definite answer yet. If there was, I would tell you. If you would prefer, in the future, if I don't have answer, I can avoid posting in these types of threads. However, I've noticed when I don't post in these types of topics we get the "Nexon didn't read this thread" when in fact we read everything we can. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - Combattente - 2010-09-01 SwordStaker Wrote:Don't be so hard guys=\ Do you REALLY think that NEXON's just gonna come out and say MASTERIAS COMING NEXT PATCH! Come on guys don't be a basil.Masteria seems to come once a year, the years not over yet soooooo.. More than a year passed since the last REAL Masteria expansion (which, even if some won't agree with me on this, I consider being Crimsonwood Keep Party Quest, not Haunted House 2, for several reasons), and that had never happened before. This should make you guys think. The vague answers by Nexon America confirm my theory that they probably haven't even been working on more Masteria expansions, or, if they did, they still lack of several things to complete it. Teleline Wrote:Only thing I don't get is why Haunted House 2 and Episode 1 both came out fragmented and made little sense story wise. Surely if the same guys that worked the whole Masteria storyline were around, those two wouldn't of shown up with badly written stories. That's what I've been thinking and I still do. Again, since NxProse and NxJoeW left (so, we can say, since the last REAL Masteria expansion was released), we haven't gotten any content with a good storyline. This just leads me and several other people to think that, again, their problem might be the storyline writer, as well as the guy who comes up with ideas for the expansions. The lack of these people could severely slow down or even totally stop the development. Considering that, with Big Bang, they would just have more mobs and quests (and even monster cards, if they even made them) to change, it could also be that didn't deem it worthy to keep developing Masteria areas, at least not before the Big Bang patch. If you noticed, Global MapleStory isn't the only version which stopped making exclusive content. Even MSEA hasn't been getting anything exclusive for a while now, as well as several other versions. I'm not sure if these things could be related to each other, but yeah. SwordStaker Wrote:Ok now you have to admit, as CRAPPY as the haunted house 2 story was, the traning areas were AMAZING. That's why I'm saying it's more likely they're lacking of a storyline writer, not a designer. They kept designing new monsters and some maps (sadly, Episode 1 ones just were a bunch of random re-used map objects mixed together), but what we haven't been getting since the release of the Crimsonwood Keep Party Quest are quests with a good storyline. SwordStaker Wrote:I will FULLY agree with how crappy the story line is. But hey what can you expect? It was an event area, not permanent. All I'm saying is combattne said the visitior storyline is crappy, it's not done yet. WHENyes I said when, a new Masteria place comes out we'll make an assumption then. But for now, don't say it'll be crappy. Episode 1 is an event area? No. Also, I have several reasons to consider The Visitors an event with crappy storyline, one of them being that it doesn't take much to notice that the event is just about some aliens coming out of nowhere (I assume they're controlled by the Black Mage, since they mentioned it in one of the announcements) and invading the Maple World. The quests done until now didn't have much storyline value (if they had any at all), and I doubt further ones will have. It's not like it's something related to Masteria, Naricain, or anything. It's just an event where random aliens appear and you have to stop the invasion. There is NO storyline in it (as expected from an event). So yeah. My best bet is the lack of the storyline writer, and, judging Hime's post, maybe even someone who gives the development team ideas for new Masteria content. I guess that NxProse and NxJoeW were the main idea creators, and why not, they could've also given some hints for the storyline. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - larmie - 2010-09-01 I didn't think high of Nexon Japan until I saw the panda that is Masteria... But, something can be debatable.OK, I'll hand it too you:Visitor Event. What storyline?I'll give you that. But I think the fact is that that there isn't a storyline writer, but they have so much to work with they could in fact expand it. One would wonder what you said about Big Bang, that ok they know they gotta change it, but how. For all we know they'll just change hp:exp ratios of the monsters and call it a day. I think the REAL reason Masteria hasn't expanded yet, is that they don't know what to expand yet. But like I said, years not over,NEXON America's not shutting down, as long as it's there I can say something will come of it.If after 2-3 years we see nothing, then ya it's time to give up. The fact that they don't know makes me worry a little, but yeah. Not even the company has definite answers yet. I guess all we can do now is just wait and see. @SwordStaker: I never said the development of Masteria areas didn't take long and that Masteria areas should come out faster. I do know how long it is to make a new map, and make new monsters, map objects/backgrounds, quests and background music from scratch. But it's also true that they've released REALLY big areas (such as Crimsonwood Keep) in one year from the last Masteria expansion or even less. That means that, if they have the right people ready to work on it, they should be able to do it pretty fast (yeah, I consider "less than one year" being really fast for such enormous areas as Crimsonwood Keep). Considering the lack of good storylines in the last exclusive content we've gotten, the quitting of two Nexon workers who were confirmed to have helped for the development of Masteria by giving out ideas, the fact that it's taking much longer than usual to get a new expansion and that not even the main company knows a definite answer about the Masteria development being stopped or not, people, including me, started to make assumptions. I think it's pretty reasonable to do it, considering the reasons stated above. Sure, we do not know anything FOR SURE right now, but we're still free to make assumptions. Yeah, well, until they'll officially say that we won't see more Masteria content, I'll always have some hope, even if not much. Best thing to do is just wait, see what happens. If they come back and say(like you said)"LOL SCREW MASTERIA"then theres always a chance. Nexon America's answer about Masteria - rayhovite - 2010-09-01 Masteria is dead. The development team took off and left because of Nexon's incompetence. So did NxJoe and Prose. "content takes times to develop"? Companies as small as Media Molecule make 10 times the content in a fraction of the time. You have no excuse for the lack of local content for this MMO. NONE.
