Free SP resets upon launch for all characters above level 30, and Female Gunners get free SP resets too if they get to level 30 before the 29th. Given how fast/easy it is to get to 30 that's extremely generous of Nexon to do. That's probably millions of potential dollars turned into free SP resets. LOL @ Those level 120 ~ 130 Arch Mages who didn't put their points in their secondary skills and went pure ultimates. I know quite a few people who do that and will be screwed if they don't get points into their current secondary skills by time the patch comes around. *aherm* I maxed angels ray asap once i reached 120 ![]()

When I had an Ice Mage in GMS before it was hacked away from me, my planned build for fourth job was not to even get Blizzard and go straight for Chain Lighting. That's definitely my most favorite Magician skill. It's a standard for being a decent human. They've never pineappleed with skills this much, so they had better give resets. Some skills were removed from the game. What are they going to do? Let that 20-30 SP go to waste? Let the new skills that got the same ID as the old ones get added into? What happens when the old one had a max of 30 and the new one has 20? Edit: And then there's those free resets from the DB deal. Eosian Wrote:Mabinogi - Entire alchemy class comes out, no one got anything. Getting SP (AP, I think its called. iunno) in Mabi is so easy, and it's already a very heavy NX game. You can play Maple without NX. You cannot play Mabi without it. Almost every equip in this game needs to have two stats to equip, the fact that those people choose to go statless for more power is their fault. i'm speaking exclusively from the point of view of a guy who has played all 3 warrior classes (fighter/sader, page/WK, spearman/DK) warriors do not NEED dex to equip anything, DEX can be acquired through equipment scrolling and, this is just my personal opinion, i don't like any warrior armor after the level 30/35 overalls. so, yes, i DIDN't have to go dexless, but warriors equip do not need DEX to equip and i realized it would be more effective to get dex elsewhere rather than add to it directly. if the game now requires crazy amounts of DEX to get accuracy to hit monsters without equips really needing it, i'd say it would be a decent thing to provide at least partial AP resets and full SP resets if all this revamping goes on to the normal servers. and, actually, i'd say the same about other classes. stat scrolls were in the game for a reason, people used them and statless characters were born. it would be a kick in the ass saying "oh yeah, maple used to be that way, but it's different now. so screw you and learn from nostradamus, you should have guessed this would happen" So once MS2 is released to KMS.. - Baklava - 2010-06-24 Eosian Wrote:Mabinogi - Entire alchemy class comes out, no one got anything. That's a dumb comparison. Skill points are literally limitless in Mabinogi. :l So once MS2 is released to KMS.. - Tay - 2010-06-24 Sorry, but I still think that Nexon will try and milk as much money out of the kMS community as it can at any point in time. There will probably be a catch to all of this, involving NX and some sort of advantage to those with NX. Obvious recent examples are Golden Temple and Dual Blade. Nexon isn't forced to do anything; because they can and it's free. Stat scrolls are in the game to improve your stats, not so you can go statless. And MapleStory was never meant and has never supposed to be a statless game, the players made it that way. But, guess what? The players don't decide how things should be, the creators do. The fact that all class armors and weapons (Except for Bowmen equips and Warrior's armor and weapons) need two stats to equip is an obvious enough reason that the creators wanted you to add your AP into those two stats. And now they're fixing that problem by making it where you actually need two stats to hit monsters. LegendGospel Wrote:Going LUKless: Faster, stronger, better. Do you enjoy making extremely foolish comparisons or something? Skills =/= stats. The game gave you skills, and told you exactly how they worked. If they suddenly change them to do different they have to give you a skill reset. However, stats ever since the start of MapleStory have only worked one way and one way only. Just because statless people decided to change that doesn't mean the way they work change. So therefore they do not have to provide AP resets for abusers. hurrr So once MS2 is released to KMS.. - Eos - 2010-06-24 Baklava Wrote:That's a dumb comparison. Stat scrolls are in the game to improve your stats, not so you can go statless. And MapleStory was never meant and has never supposed to be a statless game, the players made it that way. fair enough, you're a thief with 25 base dex, you "improve your stats" with 85 dex on equipment and you decide you will be using your level 70 top/bottom until the end of times. what's the logical improvement there? not adding extra DEX and adding LUK, now you're effectively a statless character and yet, you're using the same things the game gave you since its inception. the arcglaive/stonetooth swords would fall under the "the creators didn't intend warriors to add dex since they created the game without any warrior weapons needing dex to equip" argument. i'm not trying to argue the fact that, yes, most equipment needs 2 stats to be equipped, but just to say that scrolls introduced early in the game allowed for the capping of secondary stats that weren't really needed in abundance, so i think a partial AP and a partial and/or full SP reset should be made available to old players if these changes are made effective outside of KMST. no one could foresee an use to adding insane amounts of LUK/DEX/STR as a secondary stat when our current characters where created. If they suddenly change them to do different they have to give you a skill reset. The game also gives you stats, which work in an exact way. Yes, they didn't told you exactly how they worked, but you can deduce it from observation and writing down numbers. I quote you: "stats ever since the start of MapleStory have only worked one way and one way only". If they suddenly change the way the stats work, they have to give you a stat reset. Cause, you know... 1) Stats affect damage formulas. 2) Stats affect accuracy formulas. 3) They are changing the formulas. 4) They are changing stats themselves. That's pretty much the core of the game along with skills. Both things are being changed. Not just skills. durrrrrrrr people with knowledge are abusers hurrrr wrryyyy, etc. So once MS2 is released to KMS.. - Eos - 2010-06-24 Gabe Wrote:no one could foresee an use to adding insane amounts of LUK/DEX/STR as a secondary stat when our current characters where created. Except of course the game itself explicitly telling us we should be having at least as much of our secondary stat as needed for the average equipment of that level. Gach items don't really count there. Choosing to stop putting it in and go with lower level equips was a personal decision to disregard the advice the game itself was giving people. Sort of like bishops who insisted on using elemental wands and staves because they couldn't forsee them ever being fixed and they worked 'now'. When Nexon yanks the rug under someone for doing something that technically works but was a corruption of their plans they don't often reward for it. HT Pendants being the one notable exception that once again proves you can't really be sure what Nexon will ever do. So once MS2 is released to KMS.. - Dusk - 2010-06-24 You know, there's really nothing to argue about here. The game does not tell you to follow a specific build. Nexon does not care if you go statless or not. Sure, the game is set up with a two stat build in mind, but people will always powergame, and make the most efficient use of what they have. There's nothing wrong with that, but keep in mind that Nexon is under no obligation to perpetuate the superiority of the currently most popular builds. The "most efficient" build can change based on their whims (though hopefully the changes lead to a more diverse, balanced game). That's really too bad if your current build is screwed over. Get over it. Warriors are a one stat class. Dex is not a secondary stat for Warriors. So once MS2 is released to KMS.. - Saar331 - 2010-06-24 I actually think that since this "Maplestory version 2.0" is a kind of a new and fresh maplestory and since they gave maplestory "a new start" so they should give to their old players... maybe free SP resets for everyone but if they wanna gain money so bundles of 5 AP resets for 100 nx for instance... but its still not fair and after all the meaning of a new start is to make everything the same as u started so as we log on all SPs will be in the SP increase small blank and the APs will be 4/4/4/4 so it also fixes the older players who have X STR X DEX 6 INT 8LUK So once MS2 is released to KMS.. - ScherzoDeLuce - 2010-06-24 well, let's reset all the IDs and give everyone a real "fresh" start. |
