Justin Wrote:Oh? And what makes you say that? I'm legitimately curious about who you think would be better off having mega evos. And please, for the love of god, have a strong argument. A shoddy opinionated statement about you simply wanting your favorite pokemon to all have mega evos is just petty.

More so in terms of power, i.e. I don't think 600 base stat pseudo-legendary pokemon really need a mega evolution. Mega evolution would be great to like, bring pokemon who aren't used often etc out of the dark but instead they continue to throw them at the "cool" (often powerful) pokemon.

Every time I think of Metagross I always picture of that one mini boss from Metroid Fusion you know the one..
 Spoiler

Kind of wish they didn't just stick a spike and a beldum on it. Would've rather had them stick a metang on the bottom to give it legs lmao

 More CoroCoro leaks

The Pokédex appears to be based on the GameBoy Advance, there's also a Madame Pikachu, Hard Rock Pikachu, Idol Pikachu, Doctor Pikachu and Masked Pikach which are related to contests. We can also see Brawly's new design and Pokemon Amie in the corner. We also see Professor Birch. It states that more will be revealed on the pikachus in the issue next month.

This guy watermarked his images, but these are the only ones we have currently.

The Madame pika screen is beyond cute.

There had better be a mega Zangoose and Seviper.

Don't play with my feelings like that. Zangoose rules.

Alright, I'll agree with legendaries not really needing mega evos, but it looks to me like they're picking the most popular pokemon to give them to. :\ Unfortunately that means ubers/legendaries/pseudo legendaries get most of the spotlight...

Zangoose is probably my favourite from 3rd gen. Pokemon that don't evolve at all seem like they deserve a mega evo much more than others imo, so I think Zangoose/Seviper would work really well. I just looked at the list on Bulbapedia and there's no Ice type mega evolutions yet.. mega Delibird would be hilarious.

"But sir, how are we going to jam Pikachu down peoples throats in this game? Why not just make a Mega Raichu?"
"Mega Raichu, say.. a mega evolution is like a form yes?"
"Yeah, I suppose so."
"Then that's the answer, we'll give Pikachu 5 new forms!"

Eurghhhhhhhhhhhh. pineapple Pikachu with a rusty pole. Share something juicy with us, not 5 alternate costumes for the ridiculous overused mascot.

Also:
Madam = Beauty
Hard Rock = Cool
Idol = Cute
Doctor = Smart
Masked = Tough

As if it wasn't obvious.

Well, this could be previewing costumes for contests, perhaps we can dress up our pokemon? Still too early to tell, but I can't see them limiting it to just pikachu. Wasn't that a part of D/P contests as well?

Not to this extent, and not with their own Sugimori art. there is a 99% chance this is Pikachu specific.

Also I forgot to add: And we've got more info about the Pikachu costumes next month! how exciting and not at all a waste of magazine space.

True, we'll just have to see next month (or until they upload all of this stuff from CoroCoro on the teaser site for ORAS, which should be in the coming days).

Might want to wear rubber gloves when doing that, you'll still probably get electrocuted though.

Huh, someone pointed out something that I noticed but didn't really think anything of:
The Pikachu shown in the artwork has a female notched tail, but it is also black and has a heart shape. That goes past the notion of this just being a cosmetic costume thing, it's a physical design change.

So it is either:
A special event pikachu like the Notched Ear Pichu that is female and has a special tail

OR

The 5 costumes are actually different forms completely, that change aspects of the Pikachu itself.

I'm hoping it's a design change, it looks much better that way! =o

EDIT: Or well, what I mean is that I hope they just decided to flat-out update female Pikachu to have that black heart on its tail from now on.

But I guess it could definitely make sense if it was a special event Pikachu.

Anyone else notice that each of Mega'Gross' arms has a Beldum shaped growth?

Good to see Amie returns. Although from the video... rubbing that Pikachu looks a bit weird to me o-o.

Mega Metagross looks neat in game compared to the previews at least. Would look like it could get levitate or something. It's confirmed to get tough claws.
From Serebii:
Quote:Mega Metagross also has a greatly increased Speed stat, with additional increases in its Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def, making Mega Metagross primed for both offense and defense.
I always liked the clear body to prevent intimidates and other stat drops. So tough claws on Metagross makes him have a deadlier meteor mash or bullet punch, perfect for killing fairies.

One effect that I sort of like about the whole Mega evolution system is that it adds a little unpredictability and has more options to play around with to the existing stuff, and not just a stat increase. Strategies can change and obviously, some are better and can make it more effective than others.
