They do carry over, but some features may require a new world generation.

I'd rejoin again fresh if I could, but since I'm in the middle of moving, I doubt I could stick around for more than a week. Also, that obviously counts me out from hosting.
But if anyone does feel like starting fresh, I'd be happy to join in. I'd also be happy to donate durable materials for spawn base to help against griefing if such materials still exist; I haven't really played much since mud started falling. My jungle tunnel with piranha ponds collapsed in the middle of growth. It looked so much like the passageways in super metroid.

If I had a good, constant connection, I would host. But alas, not the case. :/ I don't know, I just had a lot more fun exploring the new stuff when it was with other people. Especially since I haven't explored much of 1.0.5 to begin with (never really crafted potions or anything...still need to make a home base/storage area).
