For the record, MapleStory 2 is not being developed by Wizet. It is being developed by N Square. N Square is a collaboration between NCsoft and Nexon.

Interesting, now if team blood lust got involved...LOL

Yes KMS is impt, but I believe how MS is doing globally will definitely affect nexon decision since every version is a form of revenue contributed by the game Maplestory.

I just feel that it seems less resource is delicate to MS now with MS2 upcoming(though spadow mention nexon brought in another subsidiary for MS2) MS isn't as profitable as before, but still enough for nexon to try and hold it around for as long as possible with minimum effort seeing how there is already a base out there. Let it dwindle for all they care, but in the meantime, there is still profit to be made.

Either that, or this near half a year long of silent is due to 5th job development. For those that can't abandon MS, finger cross then.

PS: RO2 vs RO.

So will we be seeing our favorite princess again in the future?

How about none to both, but Tree of Savior?

It's an upcoming open world MMORPG created by Hakkyu Kim who also developed RO. That's why it looks similar to RO.

I doubt it.

I doubt it.

This is what Ro2 should have been, not that crap we got that Gravity is now shutting down in December.

It looks good. Which means it probably won't get a NA release.

The korean government is passing more anti-gaming bullshit laws, they've recently put video games on the same level as smoking, alcohol, drugs, and gambling. (Well, putting it on the same level as gambling isn't exactly unfair, since all kMMO gear enhancement IS gambling.)

Incredibly stupid since MMOs are one of South Korea's biggest industries, but they're doing it. And more korean developers are going to want to be branching out to the rest of the world faster as a result.

One game that's still in beta (Black Wolf Online I think.) even recently added an english version of the site complete with foreigner registration! Not to mention there's more and more korean games coming out using the more realistic western artstyles instead of the anime artstyle that most of them have been using. Even Mabinogi's prequel Vindictus and sequel Mabinogi 2 are going with a more western artstyle even though Mabinogi's a poster child of cutesy anime style kMMOs. It seems like there's a new trend of trying to appeal to the western market amongst korean developers.

So there's actually a higher chance of it coming over than you think.

In fact, I'd imagine that one WILL come out in NA eventually no matter what. At least one publisher is going to want to get their hands on "the true successor" of Ragnarok Online, the first kMMO to actually get big in the west.

We do tend to get the "best" kMMOs, it just takes forever for some of them to come out. (Blade and Soul is even confirmed for a NA release. It's just happening incredibly slowly.) Others however, get speedy releases. (RO2 and Scarlet Blade got released in NA in around 12-13 months after their korean releases, not counting closed and open beta.)

There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding with that recent blog talking about it.

Most likely actual in-game models, but the picture has most definitely been spruced up to look better.

I could imagine them doing that.

Oh now I see why I was contacted by someone on my opinions as to whether video game addiction can actually be a real thing.
