AR build
#1
So with typhons being great experience from 8x-100+ would going right out for 30 AR a.s.a.p be good?
Like I could do Gryphons> pirates/typhons
Then after 30 AR start the reg bowman build. All suggestions are appreciatedGoggleemoticonGoggleemoticonGoggleemoticon

Back when I was training bow, you chose Strafe or AR first. Strafe people went to Squids, AR people went to Pirates. I did Strafe first, I liked it.

If you can find a Newties map, with max Strafe you can stand on the sniping spot and kill newts. It's very boring and anybody can KS you out, but it's not nearly as dangerous as actual training and you will only spend money on mana potions while you're sniping. Some archmages might allow you to snipe the newt on their map because it lets them stand further on their ledge and that can save them pots.

Yeah, when I played the ps I really loved squids but if going AR means getting through those levels abit faster then I might do it.
I got a few levels to decide though. Gryphons and typhons or squids and newties. Although getting a newt channel at 9x might be hard Sad which is why id probs do squids or an alternative. I havent seen the new cwk inner keep maps. If someone has a picture of all of them it would be awesome.

Windraiders are the best exp you can get until you get your AR to level 11, then Typhons beat Windraiders. Pirates are a good source of money and decent exp.

Thank you. I just wanna get the pomegranate away from windraiders asap. I hated them on my corsair.

Almost no point in going strafe first now. Get your arrow rain to 11 ASAP, then head from windraiders to typhons and finish maxing arrow rain. If you have the money to cover potions, then you don't even have to leave masteria to train anywhere else from 50-103, really.

Thanks cyanne, that was exactly the kind of answer i was looking for Chin
I know on my gunslinger i did the wr snipe spot at 52, would it be feasable with pomegranate for equips at 50?
I can always just stay at lupins till 52-54 if i have to.

At that level the defense penalty might be a concern, WR are level 70 so you lose 1/5 of your damage just based on level difference, then about 150 more from def.

I did them from 58 on my Assassin because... it was already that level when they came out. Worked ok for me.

Uhh, probably... I'm not sure about hunters though. Lupins might be better. If your equipment is REALLY bad though, you might take too much of a percentage-wise dent in your damage from windraiders' defense. Once you get a decent level of pkb though, which should be somewhere around 55-60, depending on how much you've put into soul arrow and booster timers, lower ascent becomes much better than everything else.

What is the typical exp rate at mid 8x's at typhons with AR?

I went pure strafe/hawk and have lvl 0 AR. At lvl 87 with lvl 16 hawk (90% stun), i got 35-36% an hr sniping both jr newts on the middle ledge on 1exp. I don't use any mw/se mule or anything to "boost" my damage besides war elixir. The downside is if i felt like training during the day, i'd have to hope there's free newt ch or else head to squids. The upside is there's always free newt channels at nights. The main reason why i like newts is because i can train in window mode and watch *cough* hulu at the same time with 50% attention to both.

I got around 50-60% an hour at that level, but I had somewhat above average equipment, so everyone could get at least 40% an hour there.

I am a 58 hunter, and I can confirm Cyanne's rate. So long as you don't die, you will gain 40-50% an hour. Beware though, Elder Wraiths on Forgotten Path are papayas (died 4 times in 50% there).

Marker of Heroism would really help, just in case you fall off. They say spamming booster causes the warp to teleport you to Lower Ascent's entrance, I find PKB to work as well, and the Marker is a stopgap if neither works.

I was actually talking about typhons in mid-80s, but it also applies to lower ascent too, coincidentally xD

Ahh, Typhon Invis wall is gone... so would strafe first take the cake atm?

Not really. It's not hard to stay within the same spot everyime. If you fall just use the statues to get back. The map is only ever full when 2x exp events are going on, so it really doesn't matter if the glitch and wall are there (unless you used that wall a lot. I use the middle plat more often).

Esc up enter when you fall is probably faster, depending on how quickly you type in your password and pin. Point is, you're not gonna lose the entire like 20%+ an hour advantage that the typhons map has over places where you can strafe just because of this change.

I lack the effort to go to windraiders/typhons so I usually just stick with wolf spiders... partying a warrior to kill the top is great because you can use (AE/AR) at the bottom to destroy the pool of spiders. Otherwise, soloing is possible with at least 1 in blizzard or inferno, but its probably easier for a sniper being that they have freeze. Umm... I started WS when I had about 6/7 AE so you don't need that much, and the exp was probably near 17%/hr when soloing, climbing every level. I found ilbissss woot Big Grin
