Pet problems + multipet
#1
Is the problem with pets not looting when you use a skill/pot still happening?

Also, how does looting work with multipets (I know only the pets with the equip can loot, but do the other ones interfere with looting at all?)

I've been putting off reviving my pet because that first issue was super annoying on my DK, and I'd like to know about the second before I pay to get 2 pets out at once.

[COLOR="Indigo"]No idea about multipet, but the pet looting issue (potting+wanting to have your pet loot) is indeed fixed. (As of 0.57 that is. Whether it un-fixed in 0.58 or not I'm not sure >.>) Hooray! :]

Multipet.

The pet you select as "boss" will pick up the items/mesos. The others, if aren't equipped with loot equips, do not interfere in any way.

No, not necessarily. You have 3 sets of pet equipment. For a while, I had my pet equips set to the second pet. This meant the Boss pet and Tertiary pets did nothing, while my secondary looted. It works well because the Secondary pet is placed in front of your character, so for a ranged person the secondary pet will walk over the drops before your character does. I was getting annoyed with something that happens when you get near edges, though, so I ended up setting the looting equips back on my boss pet.

With 3 pets, any 1 pet equipped with looting items can loot, regardless of whether they are the boss pet or not. Also having the other 2 pets with no looting abilities does interfere sometimes, but it's never been a huge nuisance to me. I have problems with my pet looting mesos (it treats them like they were from another person's kill, and by that I mean the pet runs up to it and waits, and will grab items near it, and after about 30 seconds will finally be able to pick up the mesos.) In most cases I end up picking up the mesos myself, but once the pet passes by it seems like the inability to pick them up passes on to me as well. Once in a while the pet looting will start working great, like before, but then goes back to the glitched state.

Well, I never really tried looting as nothing else but my boss pet.

Thanks for the correction.

Nexon fixed the major looting problems that were persistent in the past. Such as the wing boots only working for mesos and not items unless you had scales equiped and the buffing that caused the loot to not be pick-up-able.

The only glitch now is very minor. If you have multi-pet and a pet without loot equips touches mesos first then the looting pet cannot pick it up for awhile. But this is true only for mesos and not for items.

I just got a meso magnet for my second pet (and it has wing boots too because I bought it and then remembered nexon extended my past boots for like two months) and that works very nicely.

I would like to add that the glitch present seems identical to not being able to pick up items/mesos that a pet unequiped wtih item/meso pouch is standing on. However this appears to be fixed for items but not for mesos.

Wow, that's a very old glitch being fixed - I guess they thought it was worth it since now a lot of people will have non-looting pets.

It was introduced around version 0.18 or 0.19 - I remember it being the reason I bought looting items for my pet in the first place, and that happened when I was still at Zombies (.19 is Ludi's release). Before then it wasn't necessary cause looting myself was fast enough (esp. on a simple back and forth map like Forest of Dead Trees), and the pet didn't interfere - from then until now, it's always been "once the pet steps on it and fails to loot, players can't loot it either".

Don't get too excited - they only fixed it half way. Rolleyes

However I did test it throughly with two pets, however I have not looked at it at all with just one pet. I set my loot equips on the boss pet and left the 2nd pet without. Then I took I spent quite sometime making the 2nd pet stand on top of me while an item/meso bag fell on me & the 2nd pet then I would give a slight pause, watch the boss pet to see if it moved (wing boots were equiped) and then sometimes I tried to pick up and sometimes I let the boss pet come pick up. The boss pet and I could both pick up items right away, but mesos the boss pet wouldn't move and I couldn't pick them up. After the 2nd pet was off the mesos for about 3 seconds the boss pet would pick them up but did not move to pick them up and I could pick them up as well.

I can live with that, as long as without Wing Boots the boss pet is still the first one to hit mesos if I walk towards them.

As I said, the secondary pet is in front of your character. It looks like this:

Turkey is my 3rd pet, Skunk is my Boss pet, and Reaper is my second pet. They always try to stay equidistant from each other, so you don't really have to worry about other pets somehow straying in front of the secondary. The only problem is that when you turn around, the order doesn't turn with you; the 3rd pet will be in front and the secondary in back.

So I need to buy 2 meso loot items if I want to be able to loot mesos no matter which direction I'm going? :/

Also, skunks are pretty nice o.o

I only have two pets but the boss pet is always on the left and the 2nd pet is always on the right. (My left and right when I'm facing my computer - not my character's.)

You may choose which pet you place your looting items on (if you have them both out a little window pops up asking which pet). So if you are tervesing a map always clockwise or always counter-clockwise just place the looting items on the pet you desire to loot (right side for clockwise or left side for counter-clockwise - assuming you are the kind of class that is making drops only in frount of you and not behind).

For me as a bishop I just stand still in the middle of the screen and let my pet(s) run all over picking stuff up. Excellent (All I need is air-plane wings for my pets so they can fly up to other platforms - LOL.)

LOL @ airplane wings xD (imagine if wing boots got buffed to allow pets to fly from platform to platform hahaha)

yeah that stupid not picking up mesos with multi-pet is pretty annoying. oh wells, I just alternate between singular pets for now until that is fixed.
