Some artwork of mine.

Hey guyssssss.

I posted these on another forum and got some nice comments, and I'd just like to see what you guys think of them =) I did these last year, in year 12, for school. I didn't get a very high mark on the project because I didn't "develop my ideas" >.> You do something you like and they tell you to change it. Oh well, school sucks. I stopped doing art for about 6 months, since I left school, but I'm thinking of starting it up again as a hobby. Constructive criticism is also welcome.

 Pencil Rose

 Pencil Rose 2

 Lily

 Tulip

 Crysanthenum (coloured pencil)

 Painted Rose

 Random orange flower

Mountain Lily (meant to be blurry flower, but failed somewhat)

They're beautiful. I really like the tulip. Have you only done flowers?

Flowers were my subject matter for the project. I haven't really done any painting outside of school. If there's some object you'd like me to do I have nothing but spare time at the moment =)

Nice flowers! In my art class, I created a hybrid between a Lily and a Daffodil I think it was... But then I made it red/ deep blood red, and called it something rather. I wish I still had it.

I like the tulip.

Since you asked for constructive criticism... what I think is that your flowers seem a bit too flat. You don't give them the proper depth and that makes them appear kinda strange. Try working on getting them more... proportional to the three-dimensional plane.

Why does everyone like the tulip =S (except Harrison because I know he likes purple). The tulip took hardly any time at all. My favourite is the orange flower D=

Rick, I don't like that shade of purple. The shades of purple I like are the ones ranging betwixt my Versalmas hat and the one in the font that Stereo always uses. My profile picture has a good example of that shade of purple on my Versalhat (cuz you can actually see it better than the one in my siggy. The range stops at the purple crystal in my siggy with me in the aqua-typed background.

To answer your question, it's because the tulip actually looks the most realistic with it's better 3D better expressed, and thus, the easiest for anyone to look upon.

Well in Art III at my school we did a non-objective painting. In this type of painting you pick out an interesting picture and using a view finder (you can just use a piece of paper that has a little rectangle cut out of it) you find an assortment of shapes that you would like to paint. The shapes should be unrecognizable.

I personally don't like the tulip too much, it seems flat and the shading seems a little off on the bottom left of the petals. I really like the random orange flower and the two roses done in pencil. All three of those have nice shading and more depth to them.
