Queen Areda........
#1
This came to mind when I read something about the Sand Member Badge being useless.

It's kind of a theory but what if Queen Areda is part of the Black Magician's......uh.....(is it an army, legion, something?). Anyway the theory comes from 4 things:

1) Lisa says that she never heard of a Fairy named Areda, less so of a fairy living in Ariant. Isn't that suspicious?

2) Durring the Queen's Make up kit quest, you ask yourself(in quest description) why a would a fairy would need so much makeup? That's because she isn't actually a fairy! From what I've read and seen, fairies are naturally beautiful unless they lose their immortality in which they begin to age(though in MS, I'm not sure if this is ture as Dr.De Lang says something about lifespans, or maybe it was just about Keeny). She may look like one but it's possible that it's just a disquise. This can be done by an item, magic spell or she's actually a Doppleganger.

3) Someone from the Sand Bandits(I think it was Ardin) said something about that you needed to be strong because Queen Areda casts weird spells(something along those lines). In addition to that, you know that the Sultan is under the influence of some sort of spell making him sleepy, allowing Areda to take over.

4) Lithium, not sure on this one but isn't it important to Alchemy? Maybe the Black Magician and his disciples need it somehow. Explain why Areda needs a hella lot of Lithium Bling?

Prehaps what would happen is that something werid happens at the palace which is eventually found out to be related to the Black Magician. Therefore, the Sand Bandits have no choice but to Inflatrate the Palace and check it out. Once you get to the queen, you'd have to fight and kill her to save ariant.

Well, she loves shiny objects, which is a fairy tendency, if that means anything to anyone.

That's pretty awesome assumption.

Can't wait to care of that fat ass.

This is actually some pretty nice stuff. There's definitely something not right with that woman. She's manipulating people like crazy. Then again, Lisa also says there aren't any fairies outside of Orbis, and Keeny and her mother live in Magatia. On top of that, there's a quest in Floating Market where a girl there sends you to orbis to get Lisa's make up kit because she apparently is not very good looking without it. Maybe a fairy's beauty is a rumor they spread themselves to appear superior? Then you have to think, is a quest from a World Tour area going to be the final word on something? Probably not, they've been contradicted several times (And this probably led to the World Tour's eventual removal).

Is that girl in Floating Market a fairy...? If so, then it seems that outside of Orbis, fairies' beauty declines or something. If I remember correctly, Lisa isn't a fairy, so it seems normal that she'd have a make-up kit.

The girl outside in Floating Market isn't a fairy, but she says she heard about Lisa's legendary beauty and that she uses a makeup kit. Lisa has wings, so I assume that means she's a fairy.

Well, aren't keeny and her mother in Magatia secretly? Or am I getting that wrong?

Besides, they're not lavished like the queen. If someone visits Ariant, they'll hear of the queen, but they won't necessarily hear of Keeny.

Besides, most fairies look nice and you can tell they don't try hard to look pretty, while the queen looks like a fat tub of lard who put on too much makeup. The other fairies look naturally pretty.

When I was going through the quests, I thought to myself "Wow, there's no way this peach is a fairy" Because there's too much evidence she isn't to ignore.

@Rayquaza2233

She's got the wings and everything else for the disguise, if she's good enough to put the king under a spell than she's probably smart enough to act like a fairy.

Oh, that's strange... All these years and I've never noticed that Lisa had wings until I searched it up on Hidden Street. At the same time, she doesn't look like other fairies such as the pot shop and weapon shop... (As in floating in the air). Then again, Phyllia doesn't look like that either... Queer...

Quite frankly, I think the only way Areda will be dealt with is if Empress Cygnus launches an assault on Ariant and seizes the town. That way Abdullah would be back in power ruling over the desert, the town would be rich and not poor, they could take care of the Red Scorpions problem, and restore order in Magatia. As for Areda, they should dump in inside a tomb of flaming hot lava in the Dead Mine.

Gosh! I never thought of that :f6:. I thought this fairy was naturally being greedy but come to think of it, the evidence you showed us Teleline cold mean that Areda might be working for the Black Magician...

I wonder if KMS is gonna update future quests that involves fighting Areda?

Yeah...
But they're a little different. They have smaller wings and stuff.

Holy crap. That's an awesome theory! Maybe in a future Black Magician-related quest, u have to ally with the Sand Bandits to kill her or something?

This is some great stuff, and even though I haven't been into the room with Areda for a long time, I think it looks a bit like one of those labs, in the way everything is placed (all the Lidium in there makes it hard to recall).

My impression on this Areda figure is that she's a fairy-wannabe, because it appeals to her image of what she wants and therefore her view on reality.

Lisa's statement that she never heard of Areda before also suggests that the fairies of MapleStory are generally a close-knit community. Further investigation seems to suggest this, as most quest dialogue related to the subject seems to support the hypothesis. We can see some discrimination against humans from Wing (Ellinia) and Kriel (Orbis Pot Shop). And even if the fairies are separated by vast tracks of land, they still remember each other, such as the instance between Phyllia and Ericsson, and Wing and Kriel.

wow....someone's done their research. XD -hands a pineapple Pineapple-

the whole thing actually seems plausible though. and perhaps, just perhaps, you need the badge somehow to explain that you are actually part of the sand bandits because shes a shape shifter! (not necessarily shape shifter, but maybe she copies peoples appearances)

and the ellinia fairies are different, and Keeny and her mom secretly ran away from Orbis.

and i think since the 7th day market is an event (i think it is...isnt it?) that they wouldnt make it involved in any quests, so a fairy being in there is just a coincidence.

Yep. He has wings.

But whatever the case, Areda is NOT a fairy. Another point I forgot to make is all the fairies with giant wings float, while she does not.

Ericsson is Phyllia's brother. :p

We don't really know how Phyllia met De Lang, but somehow they met and she moved with him back to Magatia. (If you want to speculate, we do know that the magic stones that fly the aeroboats are made in Magatia, so maybe he was delivering them?)
