From what it says on Uni's blog, it sounds to me like a role playing dungeon, like the SAO event, where you need a ticket to enter.
It's Japan only for now I guess, but considering the shows western appeal I imagine it will make it into global eventually too.
And I thought the Marvel x Attack on Titan crossover was strange.

It was breaking record sales with every volume and pulling in numbers four times what the second best-selling manga was, as well as a nearly two run on top of the Jump rankings. The sales have kind of evened out since then.

I don't think that is an available face shape, but a mask. There are a few existing masks/hats in the game that gives you a different face shape.
