I figured I'd make a thread for it since Buccaneers have one here. I've provided an early 4th job build in my guide, which I believe should be the cookie cutter. The main problem is deciding what to max after Cannon.
I'm currently level 121 and I probably won't be level 131 for a while. However, I've been planning my build for quite some time. It's not set in stone and will probably change to accommodate newer training areas...if we ever get them.
This should be everyone's build in my opinion. Cannon is way too powerful to not max first. I've also allocated 1 SP in each of the skills that replace older skills at level 1.
I'm not entirely sure if I want to get 21 Torpedo (6 targets) this early. I guess I really want a good mob attack, especially since I didn't max Flamethrower in 3rd job. Level 21 Torpedo is better than Cannon on 3 or more monsters.
Torpedo opens a whole new training spot at Crimson Guardians. You can snipe the bottom from the right staircase and you can snipe the top from the top right or left of the map. Splitting the map should be a good alternative to Skeles. Torpedo will also be good at Newties because it hits 3/4 of the bottom from the right.
I may max Rapid Fire instead after I get some more experience at Skelegons. I'd like to see how often Battleship breaks there before getting Torpedo.

151: +3 Rapid Fire (21)
152: +3 Rapid Fire (24)
153: +3 Rapid Fire (27)
154: +3 Rapid Fire (30) [MAX]
Next I max Bullseye to improve my bossing ability, especially at Anego and possibly Bigfoot (if Nexon ever does anything about the hackers). Rapid Fire is maxed next to improve bossing at Zak and Horntail. I didn't do Rapid Fire before Bullseye because I don't Zak or HT that often anyways.
155: +3 Maple Warrior (03)

157: +3 Maple Warrior (09)
158: +3 Maple Warrior (12)

161: +1 Maple Warrior (19) +2 Battleship Torpedo (23)

164: +1 Battleship Torpedo (30) [MAX] +1 Hypnotize (01) +1 Support Octopus (02)
165: +3 Support Octopus (05)
166: +3 Support Octopus (08)
167: +3 Support Octopus (11)
Next I'll max Maple Warrior for more damage and finish off Torpedo. Maxed Torpedo is better than Cannon on 2 or more monsters. 1 Hypnotize for fun and then I get 11 Support Octopus to max out it's duration.
The rest of the build is just finishing off whatever is not maxed yet. I don't think Hypnotize is useful at all so I decided to max Flamethrower instead. I may max Hypnotize instead if some groundbreaking discovery pops up.
I don't see the point in making it one thread. Too cluttered, and the other thread seems mainly to accomodate the TS' desire to finish his 4th job guide than to compile a complete list of possible build routes anyway. Not that zach wouldn't ever do that though.

Yeah that's mainly why I made this thread. Plus I don't know many other Gunslingers/Corsairs so this is really the only way I can get some good advice/opinions.

I was the start of Sligners being bullied out. F4 Brawlers are bullies.
Here's what I posted, with updates, after I was pointed out of the cooldown times and such for Battleship.
Spoiler
As a Corsair, you have many skills that replace others at lvl 1. So I will get those out of the way.
Advance Homing/Bullseye replaces Homing at lvl 1, but I won't need this till I'm near bossing levels. Which for me would be ~130. Bribery's Gunslinger guide has a very well thought out way of distributing these points, so I will follow his guide until I'm level 13x.
Battleship Cannon 30/30 [MAX]
Elemental Boost 1/30
Wrath of Octopi 1/20
Battleship 1/10
Battleship Torpedo 1/30
Air Strike 1/30
=========================================
This is where most Gunslingers get confused, and do what they want to do.
Next I will start with my Bossing Build. It consists of me adding points into both Rapidfire, and Bullseye.
By 141, this should be a good level to actually start being help on bosses (Horntail). Your HP will differ, depending on how much you HP washed. I should have enough HP by this level.
Bullseye 20/20 [MAX]
Rapidfire 30/30 [MAX]
Battleship Cannon 30/30 [MAX]
Elemental Boost 1/30
Wrath of Octopi 1/20
Battleship 1/10
Battleship Torpedo 1/30
Air Strike 1/30
Maple Warrior 1/20
Now I will start on Maple Warrior. I prefer getting Maple Warrior before Battleship Torpedo, because I don't see myself using Torpedo as much as I would Maple Warrior.
149: +3 Maple Warrior (05)
150: +3 Maple Warrior (08)
151: +3 Maple Warrior (11)
152: +3 Maple Warrior (14)
153: +3 Maple Warrior (17)
154: +2 Maple Warrior (19) + 1 Battleship Torpedo (02)
Bullseye 20/20 [MAX]
Rapidfire 30/30 [MAX]
Battleship Cannon 30/30 [MAX]
Elemental Boost 1/30
Wrath of Octopi 1/20
Battleship 1/10
Battleship Torpedo 2/30
Air Strike 1/30
Maple Warrior 19/20
Bullseye 20/20 [MAX]
Rapidfire 30/30 [MAX]
Battleship Cannon 30/30 [MAX]
Elemental Boost 1/30
Wrath of Octopi 1/20
Battleship 1/10
Battleship Torpedo 30/30 [MAX]
Air Strike 3/30
Maple Warrior 19/20
Next Air Strike.
165: +3 Air Strike (06)
166: +3 Air Strike (09)
167: +3 Air Strike (12)
168: +3 Air Strike (15)
169: +3 Air Strike (18)

172: +3 Air Strike (27)
173: +3 Air Strike (30)
Bullseye 20/20 [MAX]
Rapidfire 30/30 [MAX]
Battleship Cannon 30/30 [MAX]
Elemental Boost 1/30
Wrath of Octopi 1/20
Battleship 1/10
Battleship Torpedo 30/30 [MAX]
Air Strike 30/30 [MAX]
Maple Warrior 19/20
Now start maxing Wrath of Octopi
174: +3 Wrath of Octopi (04)
175: +3 Wrath of Octopi (07)
176: +3 Wrath of Octopi (10)
177: +3 Wrath of Octopi (13)
178: +3 Wrath of Octopi (16)
179: +3 Wrath of Octopi (19)
180: +1 Wrath of Octopi (20) [MAX] +2 Elemental Boost (03)
Then I do Elemental Boost, Then put 1 Point into Maple Warrior to Max it, then Max Mind control,, Then put 1 point into Hero's Will and max it, Then I have 1 extra point. o.O
Level 200 will look like this:
Bullseye 20/20 [MAX]
Rapidfire 30/30 [MAX]
Battleship Cannon 30/30 [MAX]
Elemental Boost 30/30 [MAX]
Wrath of Octopi 20/20 [MAX]
Battleship 1/10 [MAX]
Battleship Torpedo 30/30 [MAX]
Air Strike 30/30 [MAX]
Maple Warrior 20/20 [MAX]
Mind Control 20/20 [MAX]
Hero's Will 1/1 [MAX]
Extra Points- 10? wait no 11? Ya I think 11.
There are many things I might change around for my build.
Still have to worry about the rareness of skill books and stuff, and I'm having second thoughts on a couple.
Possible Changes-
Might get Bullseye before Rapidfire
Might get 21 Torpedo at first, then later on max it.
So far, none of the Corsair books seem too hard to get, besides Rapid Fire 30 which drops from Sharks. It should become more common once we get that Leviathan boss. I also haven't seen Elemental Boost 30 anywhere. Does it even exist? :f6:
This should be everyone's build in my opinion. Cannon is way too powerful to not max first. I've also allocated 1 SP in each of the skills that replace older skills at level 1.
Get torpedo, ship, and canon all in one level. It will annoy the hell out of you to get off ship or get on to use a specific attack. Level 1 canon > max burst fire I beleive due to speed. Even so, it's not a big difference as newties on bottom + ultimate at top is best.
I threw 1 bullseye early at the beginning but it's not necessary.
I'm not entirely sure if I want to get 21 Torpedo (6 targets) this early. I guess I really want a good mob attack, especially since I didn't max Flamethrower in 3rd job. Level 21 Torpedo is better than Cannon on 3 or more monsters.

Any thoughts on my build? What are your skill builds going to be?
Everything else is pretty okay. I'd recommend rapid fire after canon though, at least some to beat out burst fire. My ship breaks only a few times in an hr at 13x taking middle platform. I rarely use torpedo as I dont have the mobs.
Guardians is okay but it's sometimes annoying to set up the party and such. Soloing sucks there i'm pretty sure.
I have to test it myself, but my brother tried to pin BF with canon and rapid fire and both didn't do it but instead BF pinned him, so it won't work for us, but i wanna test it myself before recommending to not try BF
After canon, i got 5 rapid and now maxing bullseye since this is my bosser. After that i plan to get 20 rapid, 30 if i can, then max mw. So far i haven't found a time to use torpedo at skele party as canon gets the job done. Once those skills are all maxed, which is prolly 162 or something iirc, i'll prolly max out elemental boost or get to 20. After that, just do whatever since really, canon, ice splitter, burst/rapid fire, and torpedo are all what's needed to train, from top priority to lowest of the 4.
Gunslingers have a decent time trying to pin stuff. I don't think they end up pinning, they end up shooting enough to keep them in a single spot. At least until you have to pot/buff/kill other monsters in the way.

Hmm I'll probably get some Rapid Fire before Torpedo then. Maybe just level 5 so it's better than Burst Fire.
I had no trouble not having Torpedo at level 120. What I did was use Torpedo on the bottom right to kill off the 3 newties, then demount to use Burst Fire to kill the Nest Golem. This method made it really easy to keep my ship alive.
I also doubt that a Corsair can pin Bigfoot. It seems that only ranged class that can pin it is a NL, and maybe a Bowmaster with skillful use of Puppet.
I still think Torpedo would be good to have. Maxed is better than Cannon on 2 or more monsters and level 21 is better than Cannon on 3 or more monsters. I guess if you're taking the middle platform in skeles you wouldn't find that many mobs, but anywhere else it should be mobby enough to use Torpedo.

Triple fire is still better than rapid at level 5, because you're not literally throwing all your sets out the window every couple minutes. The damage % difference isn't that big still anyway if i remember correctly.
They can pin it fairly well if there were no monsters around. If he gets too close you can just recoil over him anyway. (like NLs do) Or let him step on you for a few damage and use the invincibility frames to recoil away.

Good point about Rapid Fire. That and Burst Fire allows for more mobility. I guess I could postpone it a bit.
Bullseye should remove the issue of having monsters around. Hmm, maybe Corsairs can kill it quite well. We'll have to wait for a high level Corsair to attempt it. I don't think letting Bigfoot step on you is a good idea...he does more than a "few" damage. xD

Oh right, bullseye. xD Good thing for cannon not having minimum range then. :O
Try suiciding at BF sometime. xD If you aggro him he runs right up to you and jumps on the ground in front of you for like 1-10 damage.

Really? I guess my friend's Hurricane is still too low leveled because Bigfoot has managed to break free from the corner and trample us without Puppet.
