Pokemon Season 1 theme tune, nostalgia

So, Pokemon X and Y the series. which so far, has been one of the best Pokemon series ever. (I'm not kidding, i'm thoroughly enjoying it)

The English Dubbed version of the OP came out recently:

I don't hate it. I absolutely love the fan pandering going on here, and bringing back all my glorious childhoods.

I tried to sing along with it and got upset they didn't dub it all.

I wanted to scream POOOOKEEEEEEEEEEMONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN like I once did as a kid :<

Oh wow, that wasa great. Havn't seen any XY anime yet,I guess I may give it a chance later, dropped it sometime near the end of BW.

Just doesn't feel right for me after having seen the entire opening for XY in Japanese. On the other hand, I don't think they would even come close to rattling off the entire list of types at the start of the Japanese intro.

Only thing missing, the poetry at the end that ends with a cheeky Rotom laughing at Oak for the various mishaps at the end.

Speaking of the anime, I've been waiting ever since the first episode to see when the Fairy type would get mentioned, since ya know, a whole new type is a pretty big deal.

Finally in episode 13 it was mentioned... in an off-hand comment by Clemont.
Clemont: "By the way, Sylveon is a Fairy type, Dedenne is a Fairy type too"
Ash: "Oh I see, cool. A new pokemon and a new type, let's do this!"

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was expecting slightly more than that. Team Rocket made no mention of it either, which I found strange, as usually their thing is "Wow, that's new and exciting, I bet Giovanni would love that"

Ash looks a tiny bit older and wiser. (thank the Pokemon gods)
