I've been speculating that drain's amazing spammability might be a mistake.
When in transform, drain is significantly slower.
At first, I thought maybe transform's version was glitched
But then I heard that in MSEA, Drain is also significantly slower (matching with transform's drain speed).
What do you guys think?

Don't let Nexon know about this, I've already maxed it!

The 1.5 avoid/luk might be a glitch too, which would screw over GDH and etc..
I for one want it all to stay this way. It's nice and not really unbalanced.

If this is true (and I hope it is), then it will surely shut up Drain supporters.

Just watch a video of Drain being used in KMS, then compare it to GMS' Drain. It's definitely not the Drain that it's supposed to be.
Regardless, a maxed out Barrage beats a maxed Drain (obviously), so I don't see what the point of maxing Drain is other than making 120~130 a little bit easier.
Some people like Drain purely for it's range. Make a Night Lord; Brawlers are made for close-range fighting.

What's wrong with drain supporters?
By the way, prose did say there are small differences between versions...

Because people are seriously taking points out of Shockwave/Blast for Drain. That's just madness.

People are all "Aw dayum! Drain is so strong!", and making a big deal out of it's range and power. You're boasting over a skill that I and many others consider glitched; when Nexon fixes the problem, you'll regret having it maxed.
Again, it's completely useless after you max Barrage.

I don't see why. I remember reading the text of the NPCs in a 4th job brawler advancement video (some chick in SEA) and the 4th job instructor said something along the lines of "there are several paths you can take to increase your limits as a buccaneer. Once you follow that path, stay on it, and you'll become stronger than your wildest dreams".
Or something like that. Point is, brawlers are clearly not the type of class to have a set, cookie cutter build like every other class in the game. From first to fourth job, there's many choices we have to make for our character that defines our playstyle. Why would you want to take away the best qualities of drain, effectively ruining it's usefulness, and pretty much solidify the transform build as being the absolute best route to take at end game?

I'm not maxing drain, blast, or shockwave smart guy.
Many others? Only a handful of people know about this right now, meaning pretty much no one at nexon HQ knows about it. Besides, we all know how good nexon is at fixing glitches. If they're so quick to change this if it is a glitch, good game nexon. I fucking love you too.
Like saph said, barrage has a cooldown. Wuht nao?

It's just an NPC, bro. Something the Nexon code monkeys typed up.

I'm not trying to sound offensive, so calm down.
A maxed out Barrage, regardless of it's delay, outdamages Drain in raw DPS. What'll I use then? Double Upper. Maybe even Dragon Strike if I've got a few monsters around me. The delay is no longer than that of DU's, so it's not like Barrage's little delay is anything new to a Brawler. It's all about chaining attacks, and Drain, soon, will not be present in those chains.

You can't deny it's truth. There's a few builds for every advancement and all/most of them are dramatically different and change how one plays. Someone who went the CSB -> BSB -> DU attack build in second job would play much differently than a CSB -> DU -> BSB brawler because they lack a powerful 1v1 skill till much later on. An energy build marauder will play differently from a transform or stun mastery first marauder. Maxing DS and barrage before demo, snatch, and ST is the same as well. Loose is even doing DS and orb before transform. All of those things make what nexon says true. Obviously they'll usually all match up in the end but meh...
And honestly, can you really say that nexons writers aren't very good after masteria and magatia? Hell a lot of the stories in the game are pretty damn good, so i wouldn't really be surprised if they actually put a bit of truth into explaining the classes in the fourth job advance instead of slapping a keyboard, writing some bullpomegranate and calling it a day. :f6:

You did to me, simply because you assumed i'm a drain "supporter". Yes, i do like it's benefits, but i'm not so much of an idiot where i would seriously consider getting a few energy charge and max drain first and use it as a main attack. That alone pissed me off a bit.
I never said drain out damages barrage. All saph and i said that because barrage has that delay, drain is the next best thing to fit in there.

I still don't get why you want Drain nerfed. You hate it. Good for you. Nerfing it doesn't do anything to you, but screws over a lot of people.

It's Nexon. Not Stephen King.

No...DU would keep the monster stunned thus making your next Barrage have more criticals.

Okay, wiseass.
Double Upper anyway. It'll still outdamage your Barrage/Drain combo.

Barrage 30 + 3x Energy Drain 20 (no stun) 1043%
Double Uppercut 20 + Barrage 30 + Flash Fist 20 (no stun) 972%

I like drain, first of all :3.
I'm just warning that it's possible they may fix drain to it's real speed, making it not as good as it seems.

Where'd you learn how to count?
Barrage raw DPS: 710%
Drain raw DPS: 800%
The delay is double the length of DU's.
