This actually has me interested, I haven't been interested in the Pokemon anime in years.

-No Ash

Suddenly the show got a thousand times more interesting. I got so tired of Ash and his level X Pikachu.

As much as I love the idea of a pokemon anime without Ash and Pikachu (like Pokemon Chronicles, which was far more interesting. Especially the short arc based on Johto, starring Gold)...

I dislike Red's look. He doesn't look like he did in the games for me. His facial features are so small you can barely make out his mouth and nose, and his hair is a weird colour. Not a fan of the character design.

New pokemon anime? Different style, but might be interesting. Stopped watching the anime halfway through B&W. I miss Brock (and Cilan was annoying)Red really should have taught Charmander metal claw.

It's not a full series, just an OVA

Random opinion from the internet which I strongly agree with:

"Main" series? Who the hell cares about the "main" series? Ash is a platypus, half of his badges are either sympathy badges, or "hey you rescued my pokemon from team rocket" badges, rarely does he ever earn them. Red gets pomegranate done, Red catch's legendaries, Red beats gyms, Red becomes league champion. This "main" series started well after Red was established as a badass in both the manga and the games.

This has me excited in many, many ways.

He does pretty much look like the FR/LG version but maybe with smaller eyes. But I know what you mean something about him looks a bit odd.



I don't mind it being an OVA as long as it's good and well-paced. If it was a series they would probably just have lots of filler episodes anyway.

The best Pokémon animation I've seen were those special ones they did for BW2, I would love if they did a proper OVA like that.
